Ok, the trailer of the Saikano OVA is out:

From the looks of it, there seems to be a new character who almost has the same abilities as Chise.
Saikano OVA series?!

For those who are curious:
The OVA seems to try to show an 'other' side of the story, you haven't seen in the series.
Forgive me, I did not watch the series, so I may not completely comprehend this explanation.
The site explains this OVA is based on the perspective of "ちせ" (Chise), rather than "シュウジ" (Shuji). So the TV series was based on Shuji's perspective and thoughts, I assume. Not this time in this OVA.
What did Chise experience in the battlefield?
What did she see?
What did she think?
The OVA will problaby mainly, if not all focus on these aspects explained above.
The new character "高端しん"(Takahashi Shin), a teacher, according to descriptions, will also feature in this OVA.
Who is she?
Obivously that will be answered somehow in some form in the OVA also.

I hope that was of some use.

hmm...I don't know, but it does sound like its still riding on the popularity of the original series...it just stood so well on its own, it doesn't NEED further explanation. And i think Chise's emotions were told well enough, she did what she had to do, but loved Shujii to no end...
On top of that, its safe to assume (if that other girl silouetted IS another weapon) in the end the other girl is no longer around (Chise defeated her, maybe?)...so ia m sure there will be a whole lot more death and sadness and whatnot... again...not needed on top of the original series.
The trailer does seem to show how Chise got that way, but really, that wasn't the point of Saikano, nor was it needed. At its heart it was a love story, along with some realistic aspects of war and love. And a good (if heartbreaking) story at that.
On a plus, at least Chise looks the same. I hate it when they change character design on a series you ALREADY like....

Well, certainly looking forward to this, SaiKano is one of my favorite series, and i think showing Chise's side of the story will do great, eventhough the series shows already a lot, there are still some things that are left stuck in my head, and offcourse adding Chise's perspective would be great.
It seems the OVA is showing this part of the story, or it is about how Chise was made into the Ultimate Weapon in the first place. That is another thing i was wondering about, and also wasn't really explainedSpoiler wrote:One of the things i am wondering about is what happened to Chise when she was taken away after the she collapsed (that is after that major earthquake), and later returned fully turned to the android self.

It should be interesting, though it's only 2 eps. The sight of another android girl makes it a little interesting.
