Thanks for the suggestions. I always thought about to buy NTHT ...
And EVA.. oh well, I already saw it about 3 years ago, I didn´t like it.
And whatever Magnetic Rose may be (never heard of it) I´ll find out what it is.

Thanks again

Magnetic Rose is a short anime on the Memories dvd, very good work.
Another that would be more in the line of Lain is Boogiepop Phantom. This is a real brain twister, each episode is part of the timeline and has interwoven plots and characters. I think you'd like this one. Try a google search for web pages with more info on any anime you decide to buy, it may help.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Monster, ep. 34

Wow. I continue to be amazed at how the anime can take what was fairly subdued in the manga and make it into intense, terrifying, athmospheric stuff - for instance, the last time we see the Lieberts in this episode was probably the highlight for me. It's an idyllic scene - setting, music, mood... there's nothing outward about it to suggest any problem. And yet the context it's placed in has, for me, made it one of the more disturbing scenes thus far.

And then, of course, the anime also takes what was already intense, terryfying and athmospheric already, and does really amazing things of it.

If you haven't read the manga, and are following the series with a high degree of interest and attention, trust me on this one: the next 3 episodes are gonna blow your f*cking mind.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
