Kiki's Delivery Service.....live-action?!

Jeff Stockwell, who wrote the screenplay for The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, has been hired to write the screenplay for the Kiki movie.

This could be one interesting flick. And I'm just wondering, isn't this Miyazaki's film like one of Disney's favorites?

congrats on your 6000th post, that is crazy.

About the movie though. Do you know if the books are very different than the anime. Because alot of times you see mangas turned into animes and they are extremely different.

I also wonder if they are going to try and make it like harry potter, all magic like and stuff. Because in the movie most of the magic she shows is just flying on her broom.

What rating do you think they will make it PG or PG-13? Now to see it rated R, which will never happen, would be just plain crazy

I'm not sure how many differences there are, but I do know that Miyazaki added the final scene, the one with the blimp, to give it an action packed ending.

its going to get butchered I tell ya, disney is turning a good anime movie into crap like they always do, then there will be a sequal which will also be crap and have nothing to do with the movie. I know how disney works trust me, I seen a bunch of disney movies to know this.

Disney's done very well with the Miyazaki movies. Considering that their ironclad contract with Ghibli prohibits them from doing <i>anything</i> to alter the animated movies, I'd rather have nobody else doing the live-action adaptations. I wouldn't take what Disney's done to their own properties to indicate what they'd do with someone else's.

I'm beting it'l just be another typical movie aimed at girls in primary school, ala matilda. It woent be bad, just dont expect to enjoy it on the same level that you did with the anime.
