Has there been an anime that has changed your life?
Alot of times in anime, it tends to get really deep. So deep that it has an effect on your life. Has there ever been one that has changed your life?

DragonBall made me stop smoking and drinking, so I devoted my last 4 years to trainings and I'm really pleased with my life as it is now.
Also GTO made me look at things in a much better light, not get depressed often and just be a perverted, chic-lovin' existence.

Evangelion made me want to join a secret pseudo-religious-scientific organization that pulls the strings of world in order to force the eventual evolution of humankind..... It also made me realize that no sacrifice or cost is too great in order to get the love of my life back, even if it means the destruction of everything as we know it....
and if you believe that I have some land in Florida I would like to sell you.

And I will buy your land in Florida, so long as it's close to Disney World
That really depends on what you mean by this question. Technically, anime in general has shaped my life, as it probably had for most of us. I wouldn't be making AMVs or going to conventions and I'd probably have a lot more free time if I didn't watch anime
As for a particular anime changing my life, I can't really think of any per se. Love Hina made me check out the admission process to Tokyo U, but I never applied or anything.

Wow! I'm glad it helped you, but I hope you don't mind if I ask how. i have seen little of dragonball, but I am suprised that any anime series would make someone stop smoking and drinking.bote wrote:DragonBall made me stop smoking and drinking, so I devoted my last 4 years to trainings and I'm really pleased with my life as it is now.
Anyway, the anime that changed my life was evangelion, and i kinda went of on that tangent in http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... 8&start=75 to sum that up evangelion was the main factor as to why i got into anime, and if i saw something else anything at all really I would have never gotten into anime or have anything to do with it or this site to day. So truly that really greatly changed my life.
Also berserk because now i know what to expect in hell. Just kidding. anyway, it really showed me a bond freinds can have with each other and what could happen if it is broken. i think it gives good edivce in that sense and I can really relate a lot with the griffith, although I still have yet o summon the god hand. i had a lot of power at one point and lost it all so I sort of know how he feels. That is why these are my top two favorite animes.

As Greenjinjo said, Anime has greatly impacted the lives of most people here. I have simply spent too much time with it over the last several years for it not to have done so. However, there is no real one anime that affected my personality or ethics or anything. I think I am attracted to the anime a little bit more because i agree with the ideas presented rather than the ideas presented impacting me (althouhg i can only think of a couple like this). Ultimately i think anime and amvs are basically a hobby for me (one that sucks up most of my time) so while it impacts me that way, it has no more impact than sports would have on people who do them...

Super Milk-Chan changed my life. It made me realize that not all Japanese are extremely intelligent . No, seriously, Evangelion, hands down. Plus, if it weren't for Gundam Wing, I wouldn't even be into anime. In fact, I worship Gundam even more than I did when I was 10 .
