Live-Action Movies & Shows based on Anime

Post by GloryQuestor » Tue Feb 15, 2005 5:05 pm

After reading dragoneyesz's short "Japanese live-action" thread, I thought: "What about a thread on Live-Action conversions of Japanese Animes?"

Here is where Anime News Network keeps a list of live-action movies based on Japanese anime.

So far, I've only seen the two Guyver movies (fair movies, and the second one has David "Solid Snake" Hayter in the title role) and then the "live-action pieces" that you see in anime movies like End of Evangelion and games like Chrono Cross (yes, there is a live-action segment in there -- you have to play through to find it, though. :) )

Has anyone seen any other live-action anime efforts that they could recommend for viewing (or import on DVD)?

Also a hot topic is the Neon Genesis Evangelion live-action movie. Does anyone think it is (or is not) worth ADV's time to make when production rolls around? What are your thoughts on this, and other live-action anime efforts?

(ANN has been slow as of late, so the above link might take a while to load.)

Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

I agree. If they can make Eva anywhere as good as Lord of the Rings I will be the happiest person in the world. And if it sux somebody is going to have to pay  .

If you've ever seen Cutey Honey you'll probably like the live action.
