I don't think anyone's mentioned them yet, but I'd like to put in the Disney Miyazaki dubs for some good dubbing.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

Warriors of the Wind nothing like butchered miyazaki to put a fowl taste in the mouth. This is streamline at its absolute worst.

Weiss Kreuz- not only is the show absolute grabage but it has one of the most unlistenable dubs imaginable. I still need to seek revenge on roomate for subjecting me to that one.

Witch Hunter Robin- would not have.... been.... so bad had.... not.... everyone.... talked....... like... this. Worst writing in a dub ever.

Love Hina- if you can't do an accent right leave it out of the acting please.

Crest of the Stars- again just absolute garbage.

Voices of a Distant Star- watch the dub with subs..... entirely different movies. And this is not like it is an old school release where it is was normal to butcher and rephrase a movie nor was it the remastering by the wizards at 4-kids.

Lets see been stuck watching lots of dubs lately to determine the tolerable ones for video rooms at Ohayocon.....

Hand Maid May- delightful cast. It is simply well performed and comes off as being rather smooth.

you're Under Arrest- I like Costal dubs. They were really the first ones to put real effort into their dubbing and had lots of fun with it. It shows. If only they did not take forever for each project.

Shinesman- this is rewriting where it was actually funnier in English! again more costal fun. The show is nonsense anyways so not much is lost in some of the changes.

Goldenboy- same reason as Shinesman..... its such a goofy show that the rewrites actually improved on everything.

Last Exile- Sounds amazingly natural in English. Does not help the show has so many european undertones but the dub had a quality standard. Dio is so much better in japanese though is the main fault. He's a sociopath not a psycopath damn it! But Lavie made that up. I like both versions equal.

Cowboy Bebop- cause the japanese was really hurt by Megumi Hayashibara's worst performance ever. Again simply smooth and natural sounding made this one listenable in either language.

Overrated:

Trigun: The side characters were autrocious. Admitedly the Japanese version isn't exactly well acted either but the mains are decent enough. Its not the end all be all of dubbing

Inuyasha: Sorry but this dub is crap 90% of the time. Every so often the actors convince something remotely convincing only for the next actor to have zero chemistry thereafter.

Case Closed: Its a decent funi effort but still awkward as heck at times. If you want to see funi pull off something GOOD...... Fruits Basket seems to be their only hope.

Unfortunately, the dubs are all I have seen. I haven't seen many subs. I did see the Prince of Tennis, Hunter X, and Reloaded subs when I attended an anime club at my college. A friend of mine from the club is going to let me borrow her Ragnarok: The Animation sub version. If I had to choose which one I prefered, I would have to choose both. Why? They're both good: the subs allow me to experience the original version while still being able to figure out what the characters are saying by reading the subtitles; the dubs allow me to understand exactly what the charactes are saying. What did you expect from a guy who's a Clemson and Carolina fan! ;)
I have not yet begun to adventure!

I don't get the point in NOT necroposting... Let me explain. You say "don't make a topic that you already have available". Then you turn around and say "don't necropost a topic". I just have to say.. What the f**k. It really doesn't make any sense, at all. Necroposting isn't bad in any way. I'd rather have someone necropost a dead topic and make it come back to life than have someone post a new one and make the board more crowded than it already is. It's stupid.

On to the actual topic, Here's my list.

Good:
Yu Yu Hakusho - the translation is "meh" but the voice acting is pretty well done.
Trigun - Good translation and voice acting.
RahXephon - translation is kinda skippy, but the overall dub is pretty good.
Outlaw Star - great acting, some of my favorite english VAs came out of this.
Wolf's Rain - Well voiced with a lot of good acting.

Meh:
Orphen - Decent voice acting, but really bad translation. They cut out spells and such.

Bad:
Gundam SEED - just horrible... it hurts my ears to hear this...
DBZ - Too much worthless screaming, really bad acting overall.
Yu Gi Oh - Really bad, distorted, just couldn't get any worse.
Gundam Wing - Really damn flat. I just didn't like it.
Samurai X - Even more flat. Way too monotone.
Rurouni Kenshin - Squeaky voice acting, nothing compared to the sub.

Eh, that's all for now.
