They may have buhcered almost every anime that they show on Toonami but it will bring in new fans. When they find out that there have been edits they will want to see the origanals. This will in turn increase sales of all anime and incourage the release of more show in the US. My example is this:

I started in anime with the Toonami versions of Tenchi Muyo. They edited so much out of the serries that you could not tell what the story line was supposed to be. After I found out that there was an unedited version I bought it imeadiatly. I now own over 3000 DVD's and Toonami was the one responsible for starting it.

So nomatter how much you complain about Toonami gettting it and hacking it up. It will bring in more anime. Besides there is always buying the unedited versions.

I've known for quite a while now that Naruto would be the new DBZ. Now it's coming true, and some of you are shocked? It's the exact same thing. Hugely popular kids show in Japan, only known about by a select few teenagers (we may refer to them here as "otaku"). Then, it comes to America, is still marketed towards children (what a shock!), and many of the otaku who previously loved the show now decry it, because it's "mainstream."

This identical phenomeonon is often seen in music, when a lesser-known artist becomes popular. The elitists immediately move away from that artist, usually with the excuse that "they sold out."
It was inevitable: the scent of bitter almonds always reminded him of the fate of unrequited love.

They can not ruin Naruto. If you're tired of the show take a break, you don't have to watch every episode 20 times. The only bad thing about Naruto is the filler episodes--i.e. because it's is so popular in Japan they can barely skip a week, so sometimes they've slowed down in order to allow the manga artist a chance to move ahead (time will tell when they catch up) Although I suspect that they may take a break after this current story arc (it makes sense if you read the manga) there is a shift of sorts.

Of course it does suck a bit that I probably won't be able to download it and will thus have to wait two years or so to get on with the anime version. I guess there's always the manga.

Nandez, Jackal~ms, and everyone else complaining about how their precious filler-laden anime is going to get raped over a bedpost by Toonami for the sake of attracting its intended audience (elementary school kids):

Maybe you should switch over to European animation so you can still consider yourself to be "ahead of the curve." You were not the intended audience, and thus you should be happy that you get to see it on TV at all.

If you dont want the anime to suck, dont watch it like Otohiko suggested. Just wait till the uncut DVD's come out and watch it in either uncut english or japanese. Thats what I do with all of Dragon Ball Z =)

bah they been screwing anime up for a long time now. listen to otohiko he is very wise and smart.

Naruto can be:
*Naruto, Tokushima - a city in Japan.
*Naruto (anime/manga) - an anime/manga series which is very popular in Japan, North America and Europe. It stars Uzumaki Naruto. The manga is published in Shueisha's ''Weekly Shonen Jump'' in Japan and Viz's ''Shonen Jump'' in North America. The anime is aired on TV Tokyo, which is a major channel in Japan.

knowing this i dont think cn can screw it up. i never seen naruto b4 and all my friends say its great but i dont care. i watch w/e intrests me. only watch what you want to watch, your not being forced to. and if you have to watch cn and everything they show on it, then i feel very sorry that you have no life
