This is a great movie to use if you're trying to convince someone that the Japanese can not only draw cartoon characters without eyes the size of a satellite dish, but draw them with the same technical finesse as Disney to boot. It's also great if you're trying to prove that Japan is a nation of stoners whose cinema is about as coherent as Bob Dylan on LSD.

It's alright to make fun of Akira.

Without proof, it is a rumor. And rumors start a lot of commotion and arguments.

I for one love Akira. And I don't think they will ever, and I sure hope they don't ever, make another.
