Jin Roh: Wolves in Human Armor
I really couldn't keep quiet anymore. I adore this movie and I had to tell someone about it or perhaps rant about it with someone who loves it just as much.
The storyline enthralled me, the music was amazing and the characters had a lot of depth.
My mouth was hanging open at the end and I found it one of the few anime movies with good endings. (As I haven't seen any series with an ending that I like I'm not including them... although Cowboy Bebop was pretty good)
I just.. love this movie so much! *runs around in circles*
Gomen.
A little over enthusiastic maybe?

I agree this is a well done anime. It has a good story line, political entrigue and a young man shocked into questioning his role in the millitary. A very good characterization of Fuse and his struggle between loyalty to his unit or love for a girl. An interesting plotline whith her reading Little Red Ridinghood and his being part of the wolf brigade. An excellent twist in the ending. This was the first anime I owned. It also inspired me to try my hand at making an amv. I thought the song Question by the Moody Blues fit the story so well. I still think it is the best fit of music and video I've made. It has all the beginner problems but I still enjoy it. If you wnt to see it here's the link.

It was funny for me when I saw it, I don't mean the anime was a comedy, but I hated a split liking for it. When I sort of stood back and saw the bottom line of the story I thought it was okay, then I looked deep into it, and though it was really good, but usually when I do that I still think it is really good. I was able though to stand back again and thought it was okay, and then look deep into it again and thought it was really good. I think I am going to stick with the really good. I don't know maybe I should see it again?

first...Hi new guy here *waves* How's things?
Ok..to the topic...saw it, bought it and love it alot. The soundtrack is fairly good also (got a few tracks on Winamp). The storyline was pretty good and imo was written well enough to where you dont get all the answers in the first 30 seconds of a movie. Of course some of my friends didnt like it, but their complaints were all the same..no mecha, no huge explosions, no girls in schoolgirl/sailor type uniforms..you know..the typical complains about movies like this.
In one sense, sure, there's going to be people that dont like it but there's also the people that like movies like this for a change now and then from stuff like "Full Metal Panic" or "Martian Sucessor Nadesico". It makes you think a bit, is a bit dark and brooding and was drawn fairly well. Also a good use of imagery like when he's dreaming/thinking and he's running with the wolves in the sewers.
Interesting thing I found though was, in "Bubblegum Crisis : Tokyo 2040" when Nene and some of the AD Police are trapped in the AD Police building and the camera shows Nene the Boomers downstairs, my first thought was "Damn...they pissed off the Wolf Brigade and here they come." I dunno..maybe it was because of the darkness and glowing red eyes but it stuck with me.

I'm glad a few people loved it just as much as me.
I understand that a lot of people would get confused by it, and many more would get bored as they plotline is rather slow at times. There are many minutes just watching Fuse and Riding Hood just walking through the streets or sitting on a tram.
What I really loved about this movie was how the story of Red Riding Hood was incorporated into it.
Thankyou for the replies. ^^

If you really like the movie, you should watch the special features. I don't know if it came in the regular edition, but in the SE the extras are very informative. Plus it came with a little booklet that explains a lot of background information and storylines that Mamoru Oshii put into this film. I highly recommend them if you havn't seen them yet.
