I am regetting the series through the Platinums and I'm loving it. The picture is much crisper and alive as everyone has said. Plus the booklet is fun to read and how they came up with the angel's names which I previously didn't know about.

That would be freekin' sweet! I love that video! It would be cool if you remastered Fine Again as well!dokool wrote: ...and then start deciding whether or not I want to remake Warning for a second time. Oh the agony.
As for the platinum edition, I'm probably going to wait till they release a full box set of it. Does anyone have any info on when they might release a full box set?

Fine Again was a weak concept and will not be remastered. However, Warning won't just be redone, but I'm starting from scratch and doing the entire video over completely. The only thing that will stay the same will be the song and the theme.x_rex30 wrote:That would be freekin' sweet! I love that video! Fine again was a very chilled laid back video, and had a very smooth flow to it. Awesome mood sync with footage that matched the feel of the song. I enjoyed it a lot from when I first watched it, I can agree your video warning is A lot better, but I still felt it was pretty good. -_- If your going to make a remake warning, is it going to be simplistic like the old one, or are you going to have it with more flashes, fades effects, etc, etc? I can't wait to see more hq amvs done to the high quality platinum addition!

i probably would get them, but they came out a few weeks after i finished getting the origionals and the movies. i really don't think its worth buying them all over again and the waste of money from selling 8 dvds would cover at most 3, 4 if i'm lucky. the truth is, i never really noticed the origional looked so off until seeing those shots side by side.

If it's a new anime that I'm watching as it comes out, I might spend the money on individual discs. But for something like Eva, which you've all no doubt seen before (and probably own already), why not just wait for the inevitable box set? You'll probably end up saving at least 100 bucks in the long run...
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

WOW!!! You know, at first when I heard they were re-releasing EVA I thought to myself, this is just a stupid scam to get more money out of all the EVA fans. So of course I decided to just stick with my old box set and disregard the Platinums totally. But after seeing the picture quality difference I must say I have been convinced. I must have the Platinum DVDs.
Plus the way barker described the surround sound, makes me want to get it even more, so I can crank the crap out of it on my surround system .
I am hesitant to buy them all yet though. Does anyone know if they are actually going to put out a complete platinum box set after they they finish releasing the individual DVDs.

If you really want to kick yourself in the pants, Rightstuf was selling the original box set for something like $35 to $39 this Christmas.
Getting slammed by the re-Re-RE-release of the Super-collectors-special-ultimate-secret double probation edition is a problem to any DVD collector. It also causes hard feelings from the fans to the studios that release these titles. Many titles are not worth the extras, but these are not just the extras. It is the overall quality of the film and the sound.
It is a personal choice, but if you get a chance to see and hear it this way, don't pass it up.

So very true. I usually don't buy series DVDs individually unless it's a short series, I generally wait for the box sets. I'll probably be doing the same for Naruto, but I just can't wait to get my hands on them!Kusoyaro wrote:If it's a new anime that I'm watching as it comes out, I might spend the money on individual discs.
