When I'm feeling masochistic I try putting subs on. I never last more than a few seconds. I've heard three dubbed lines from Love Hina and I would be willing to scrub my brain with undiluted chlorine bleach to lose the memories of those five and a half seconds. I heard one line from Evangelion (Asuka's) and it was a letdown, to say the least, far out of character and just annoying. I got about four seconds through one of Kusanagi Motoko's lines in the first Ghost In the Shell movie, but she sounded bored, like she was reading the side panel of a cereal box, so I switched back.

Worst dub of all time, Garzey's Wing. It's actually the only redeeming quality this anime has. It had us rolling on the floor with laughter it was so bad. My son says One Piece, he says its to hard on the ears. The Card Captors (basterdized version of Card Captor Sakura). First seasons of Sailor Moon. Rave master, the rewrite is awful. I've heard anything henti is awful, I guess they don't think anyone is listening to anything but the moaning parts.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Three words for you. Birdy the Mighty. Listen to the voice of male lead, or try to because he expresses no emotion at all, and weep. I hope they shot Justin Thompson's ass he sucks so much.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

Worst ever? Hmmm. . . The Love Hina dub made me really sad. . . *shudder* So did the Fruits Basket dub.

Worst dub?

Any anime dubbed by Blue Water Studios (though I heard their dub for Gundam Zeta was actually BETTER than the dub for Gundam SEED). Does anyone have thoughts about that?

The Crest of the Stars dub is atrocious, once you get past the translation issues.

One of my favorite series has one of the worst dubs: Revolutionary Girl Utena. I watched it subbed first and the dub is nearly impossible to get through. Most dubs prior to 1995 do not impress me. They are casted and directed much like saturday morning cartoons with hystrionic screaming and yelling. A good dub tries to retain the character of the original characters as directed by the Japanese version.
