Do you remember Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within?. The gross income of theatre sells were so horrible they realized that the next FF movie should be on DVD. However I disagree with the whole idea because FF7 has been the most sucessful Final Fantasy game so it should reel in more customers, though its arguable whether or not people would see this movie because of its previous Cinematic release, the income would be much larger then the first. Whether or not it would be extremely successful that is another question.Melina-chan wrote: It is not a good sign also that Theatre refuse to diffuse it but only get release in DVDs.....Mmmmmmmmm....

Since Spirits Within had nothing to do with any of the themes from the Final Fantasy series, Advent Children is what Spirits should have been.HexagonParanoia wrote:Do you remember Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within?. It wasn't that the theatres refused to show AC, it's that Square made it specifically for DVD, and didn't even consider showing it in theatres at first- yes, due to the box-office failure of TSW.
Also, the plot is supposed to be pretty good. A 30-minute segment has been shown at several film festivals in Europe, and it's gotten standing ovations every time.

I don't disagree there just showing why it wasn't on the big screen.DTJB wrote:Since Spirits Within had nothing to do with any of the themes from the Final Fantasy series, Advent Children is what Spirits should have been.HexagonParanoia wrote:Do you remember Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within?. No I understand you completely. I'm just saying, if you're going to do something right, at least TRY to do something right the first time around. Spirits was nothing more than a totally original concept from the guys at Square, with the name Final Fantasy slapped on it to reel the fans in. People who had never played any of the games at least got a kick out of it, but the fans of the games disliked it because, thinking logically, if it's going to have the name of an extremely well known franchise, it should have something to do with that franchise. Spirits had nothing to do with the franchise and therefore shunned by the F.F. lovers. Advent Children on the other hand, not only uses similar themes, it also uses characters from one of the actual installments of the game. A project like this is what Square should have done the first time around, and are finally getting to this time around. Whether or not Advent Children is just a straight to video release isn't important. The way in which a product is released to its audience doesn't matter, it all depends on what the final product actually is.HexagonParanoia wrote:I don't disagree there just showing why it wasn't on the big screen.
Hell. Even Final Fantasy Unlimited is what Spirits could have been.
