I just read the doujinshi and all I can say is... wow...
Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

No. Just no. It was a crappy show based on a cliche premise, and now their trying to Japanify it? What the hell do they plan to do? It's gonna suck from them just as hard. Think: what other magical girl shows can we think of that would logically be in the same league? If you say Sailor Moon, ur rite.
But then again I hated Sailor Moon, and all statements made above are opinions.
It would be funny if they tried to throw in some sort of fanservice. I would die laughing, not at the absurdity of the idea, but at the people who will die fapping.

Holy hell, if this is not a sign of how anime companies and US animation companies are working in cahoots, then I have no idea what is!
The designs don't look half bad.
What I think people here fail to realize is that Powerpuff Girls is actually VERY popular in Japan.
And what I'm sure a lot of the rest of the people here SEVERELY fail to realize is that Powerpuff Girls is actually very well written, has in-jokes and jibs at anime and other cultural phnomenon. One episode had more BAD Beatles quotes than I can count! Another had the girls reading their favorite comics where Blossom was reading a Wonder Woman knock-off, Buttercup a Spawn knock-off, and Bubbles... a pre-school MANGA knock-off! (Think Sanrio!)
They lampoon, parody, and have some VERY funny stuff thrown in with the occassional moral thrown in too. I can EASILY see why it's popular there and in the states. How do I know all this...
Well somewhere, if I can ever find it again, is a Japanese fan site to the Powerpuff girls where they decided to "powerpuff-ize" various anime characters from Rei Ayanami to Vash the Stampede. (Anyone got a link for that?)
Plus, with the popularity of anime growing, and the eagerness for US companies to snatch onto "The real thing", I can see how they'd try and collaborate on something like this.
Keep in mind that Japan and America have collaborated on animation projects before. This, however, is going to a new level.
Also, the guy that made Powerpuff Girls also made Samurai Jack. Tartakovsky is no knucklehead. He's smart and knows what he's doing. Plus, being from Russia, I bet he might have found anime before even working on Powerpuff Girls, and I bet he's very interested in seeing how this pans out.
I know I am.
