Speed Grapher - Prepare to go 0_0

Post by OmniStrata » Fri Apr 22, 2005 12:35 am

Ok, I've seen a LOT of 'disturbing' anime titles nailing the "public scene" with some high lvls of questionability in terms of: 'should they be showing that?'

Examples...

Ikkitousen: girl on girl rape fight action...
Girls Bravo 2nd Season... totally uncensored jigglies (points to avatar)
and now...

SPEED GRAPHER!

The intro to episode one has a full on hentai scene [censored through very nicely placed camera angles and skin tight paint-jobs, err bikinis... The hero is a voyeur who seems to get 'up' while taking pictures of ANYTHING...

This show will most CERTAINLY start a controversy in terms of how far Studio Gonzo will go before this thing can hit 'full hentai' status... dismemberments included! ^_^ But ep 2 showed... lesbian sex? [not explicit mind you...]

Ok, those of you who might care, and those who don't. Do you think the more and more 'raw' anime coming out will be good or bad for the industry?

A LOT more adult and sexy/violent [i.d. feeding] anime seem to be hopping up and out and I wonder what affect this might have, if any...

I'm all for it. Anime isn't for kids [well my favorites aren't] and this is a way of saying, "WAKE UP WORLD! ANIME PWNS YOU!" or something to that extent...

Your thoughts on this new thought/controversy/sex provoking trend in anime? ^_^
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

My thoughts on episode 2. :D

Poor Kagura though. And lets not forget about that piano teacher!

I'm enjoying it. It's a nice twist on an otherwise fairly normal noir (in the film sense, not the anime) with several nice twists.

Thus far, it's one of the most original anime series I've seen in a long time. It's a nice change of pace from the simple minded blatant action series, or the overtly cutesy stuff that's in an over abundance in the anime field right now.

Speed Grapher is like if David Lynch directed an anime series.

I just watched the first episode....that last scene is pretty much a direct ripoff of Eyes Wide Shut
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Yeah, I agree. That's actually exactly what I thought when I saw those scenes.
