4 kids shouldn't they be banned from every anime!
I swear every anime they touch they kill. My friend who is inlove with the japanese yugioh showed me the japanese version of it. The japanese version didn't make me want to gag my self!!! I was so relieved that 4 kids didn't liscense naruto! But why did they have to touch tokyo mew mew? It was alright in its original form!!

Well, in that case (that they now release two versions on DVD), I don't see what the problem with them could possibly be. If you want uncut, buy the DVD. Otherwise, I don't see what the problem with trying to tailor a TV version for their explicitly-stated target market is (4-kids - isn't that like, for kids? Shouldn't it then be as 'sanitary' for the standards of children's TV, hmm?)
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

What I dont understand is how they can take something decent & turn it into something horrible. Did anyone hear the new opening theme to One Piece? Where it cuts in and out of rap? It was horrible. I have never seen Tokyo Mew Mew subbed, but somehow I hated the dubbed version. If all they do is delete some scenes, fuck upp the dialogue, and hire awful voice actors, how can the spirit of the original shpw be changed so drastically?

Doesn't that cover the three basic components of a film? Acting (voice acting), dialogue, and cinematography (scenes/editing). So it seems like they could screw something up very badly with that, and indeed they have.
I still haven't seen Mew Mew Power, but I'm a TMM fan so I shudder at the thought.

Indeed they have, they've left pratically all the voices for PoKe'MoN with the same Japanese name as the American the same.Zero wrote:Yes really. Since his name didn't change, why change the voice? Saves on production costs. I'm sure they've done this for more Pokemon too.

As for why 4kids does what it does, just take a look at their name, the cater to kids, and they buy rights to shows that in Japan are aimed at either kids or young teens. The only flaw in the marketing scheme is that whats exceptable in Japan is not in America, hence the edits, or as some would say the butchering.
