Good looking wide screen? I suggest Lunar Legend Tsukihime. Samurai Champloo, too. That would look good... Though, let's face it, on a TV with a resolution that high, you're going to get some ugly images, simply for the fact that it's going to have to bring the framesize up so much to fit properly... Though Tsukihime seems to deal with that well enough.

Ghost in the Shell II.

I remember seeing that in the theater, opening night: it was an awe-inspiring experience.

He means good animation, DBZ has horrable animation.

I'd go with metropolis, that seriously has some of the best animation ive ever seen, it looks amazing, and the movie is really good, if you can put up with big noses, big feet, and awkward hair.

Vampire hunter D: Bloodlust looks groovy as well.

Spirited away.

ummmm, pokemon?

Utena The Movie and The End of Evangelion. Both don't disappoint. :D

Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis is drooltastic... skipping over my normal shpiel of ranting about how great the writing was (an it WAS), that movie is just EYE CANDY.
True, the character designs are Astro-Boy remeniscent (and for good reason - same creator) The animation is flawless; it's like they rotoscoped the entire thing...
THE ANIMATION IS MORE SMOOTH AND FLUID THAN A DISNEY MOVIE FROM THE 90s!
Seriously, if you want a movie that's just beautiful to look at (and a story that's just as great - c'mon, I'm a writer, i gotta through my two cents' in :D ) definitely go with Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. It makes a Miyazaki film look low-budget!

Proud to be a Jenova's Witness - WWSD (What Would Sephiroth Do?)
