People here... LIKE... DBZ?
*weeps* I'm home!
My wife won't stop poking fun at me (literally poking me) when I watch it. She also isnt too happy our 3 year old son can identify them all, and when 8 o'clock rolls around, he says "Watch Goku? Watch Goku?"
Hell, I love DBZ, and I have to admit it's not that good. My buddy and me have plkans to edit all 260-odd episodes down to about 20 hours of heart-murdering awesomeness.
I never get sick of Fist of the North Star.
Akira is cool as long as I fast forward through the bit at the end. Watching my wife have a C-section didn't make me queasy... the end of Akira did.
I am getting into Inuyasha now.
Ninja Scroll was sweet.

Cowboy Bebop was at the top for a long time, going back and forth with Trigun. Gunslinger Girl may replace it, tho. Despite the awful doll-like character design & emotionless heroines, it was an amazing show that really touched me. The way each episode focuses on a different character was something I have never seen before, and the girls & their trainers each represented different types of people well.
Porco Rosso is now my favorite Ghible film, followed closely by Spirited Away. Tho I liked Mononoke, it was a bit Inuyasha-style gory to really capture my heart.
As for Eva, I hate it as much as I can't stop thinking about it. Some of the episodes at the end made me laugh, like when Asuka is being mind-raped and the music playing is 'The Halleugh (sp) Chorus" from Handel's Messiah. I love Rei, hate Shinji, and am as intrigued by episodes 25 & 26 as I am disgusted by them.
I actually made a full list of my favorite anime, in order in my journal. I doubt anyone cares, by it's a time-waster if you are bored.

Not by much...the names are changed, a few more characters 'die' and they change the definition of Protoculture, but it's still Harmony Gold trying to pass off Macross as their own work.Kantero wrote:Macross & Robotech (its diferent you know)
On the differences scale, I'd say it's about the same as Godzilla: King of the Monsters compared with Gojira (wherein the big difference being the former threw in scenes of Raymond Burr for US viewers)
As for favorites: ATM personal favorite still stands as Zeta Gundam (two years strong and still holding the numero uno slot.)

I'm going through sort of a weird phase with anime right now, but a few of my favorites are *in no particular order*
Naruto (until they started dragging it to 5 episodes for 5 minutes of plot)
Le Portrait de Petit Cossette
Cardcaptor Sakura
Martian Successor Nadesico
X TV
There are others, but those are the ones that stick out of mind.
