Seen it all and am watching it again. Damn cool and damn funny. Gotta love Fuu's helplessness, Mugen's craziness, and Jin's uncaring-ness. Excellent series with no real historical background but who gives a damn.
The most expedient way to avert crisis is always by the indiscriminate extinction of anything that stands in your way.

i'd see it more like one samurai, Mugen isn't the most classy. and whats better than having to guys who(for some reason actually went with Fuu) are experts with swords and a little flying squirrel to go after after a sunflower smelling samurai for whatever reason.

I've only seen the first episode... because they've only played the first two on adult swim and I missed last Saturdays' so I'll have to wait till Thursday and tape it *groan* Gosh, I have to remember to tape InuYasha AND Full Metal Alchemist AND Read or Die... How do I keep up??? I"m surprised my mom hasn't killed me with all my VCR taping usage... Anyways, I didn't even know why I watched it...I guess 'cos there was nothing else on TV and I was bored... It was pretty good though. I thought it'd be stupid. I don't particually like Hip-Hop (Please don't kill me!!!!! *cowers*) but it didn't really annoy me with this show. The girl was interesting... Didn't she want the two samurai dudes to go find this other dude? I can't remember... Whatever, it was an interesting beginning. And the fact that they kept switching scenes so freakin' fast and random parts was actually pretty spiffy. Plus one of the samurai's was hot... The characters were all pretty interesting. And samurai's usually have really awesome backstories so hopefully they'll be just as interesting...

I also caught the "Spike" vibe from Mugen, especially with the Spike-ish hairstyle and mannerisms. I saw the first ep on Cartoon Network, and immediately I said "Steven Jay Blum".Tainted_Eden wrote:Completely. I loved how the narration was all "This ain't historical fact. Like we care, shut the fuku up and enjoy teh show." ^.^ And getting Spike (Cowboy Bebop)'s dub voice for that guy (@_@ I can't remember his name) was a wiiiiise ass choice.
FYI, Steven Jay Blum does the voice of Mugen although he is credited under a pseudonym, "David Andrews". (Most likely because of "guild rules", much like how former ADV VA Jason Lee now has to go under "Jaxor Lee" when doing Geneon and other dubs. )

Huh. I wonder why they have to do that....
Heh, speaking of relations to Steven Jay Blum, didn't you notice that Spike and Hige (Wolf's Rain) have the same hair? And then you have Blue, who has hair a lot like Ed's. I wonder if it's just BONES tradition or what....

samurai champloo is a work of art. technicaly its hard to mix two things that are such unlike, but the way they were able to combine those two unlike things with such a way in which it just fits togeather like no other, was pure genius,

Nope, while BONES was produced the Bebop movie I don't think they had anything to do with the actual show.Tainted_Eden wrote:Huh. I wonder why they have to do that....

But the character designs of both shows are done by the same guy, Toshihiro Kawamoto.
