hmm actually i have to say that was a ok dub the characters sound pretty natural or maybe its just because i saw the dub first and not the original japanese version.trinigal wrote:Again i have to saw Pokemon is the worst dubbed anime
But anyways the worst dub i've heard was the Evangelion dub. *barf*

Pokemon didn't actually get a half bad dub in my opinion. Sure, it could of been better, but it was actually okay.
One Piece on the other hand was horrible (like I said earlier). Who on Earth makes pirates sound french?! Not to mention the name change from Zoro to Zolo was bad enough, but then they milked it when Buggy says, "Zolo, time to golo!"! They made real pistols into cork guns (how did they kill a guy with that?), and made one in a poision suction cup gun. They turned Pearl into a surfer dude, they gave Mihawk a french action as well, they made Gum Gum Pistol into Gum Gum Blast, and so on.

Fushigi Yugi was on the Asian channel... and all I can say is *AHHHHH!!* It was the worst thing I've ever ever ever ever seen. I plugged my ears and hid my eyes. Tasuki does NOT sound like that and Miaka's voice did not have that annoying ring that makes drinking contests so much fun.
Complete crap.
Complete crap.

Probably the Sonic the Hedgehog movie... that dub just HURT to watch, and I usually PREFER the dubbed versions.
Casting my vote for one of the better dubs, I'd really have to say the second DBZ dub (The one people are more familiar with). The voices fit the characters much better than in Japanese; Future Trunks is the ONLY character I can think of whose voice actually got HIGHER in the dub.

It wasn't, but they did add a few different phrases (I skipping through and heard a "Bullshit" word where it wasn't before). Anyway, in defense of the dub it does get a bit better after ep 6 but if you hate the voices in the first place them getting a bit better isn't going to change your mind a lot.*inverse* wrote:I don't think the Platinum version was re-dubbed ^^;devilmaykickass wrote:#4: Neon Genesis Evangelion (Original Dub) - I have yet to see the Platinum version, but the original dub I just couldn't get through the first three episodes.
Worst dubs I heard..
Lodoss war was 50/50, hated the cleric (Die VA die)
The first .hack had a few voices that were too much like a Ben Stien (and not in a good way)
Saikano, was horrible
RahXaphon, just something made me keep drifting to the subbed version.
Thats all I can think of at the moment.

um....reply to topic:
The 'Hellsing' dub was clearly done by people who's ideas of what English accents sound like were based on (non-English) films and/or stereotypes. It is atrocious, and I had to switch to the subs to avoid being distracted by how laughably *bad* the dub was.
Granted, the series doesn't look like its set in quite the present day but still. No-one speaks with the sort of accent they had people using, even for Integra, and as for Seras Victoria....
I was shown the majority of 'Fruits Basket' in the dubbed version. I had no problems with it, other than I prefer Shigure's voice in the original. The dub seems to 'dumb-down' some of the more...questionable 'humour'.
The 'RahXephon' dub was not so much bad as boring. I think the original dialogue is more detailed (?).

Yu-Yu Hakusho: the first movie
The voices sucked so bad I could hardly stand to watch it, not to mention I was already used to the (tv) version and their voices were much more fitting. Not to mention they called kuabara kuahara (even if that is correct way of saying it, it sounds dumb).

Digimon anyone?
the Dub of Digimon Adventure and Zero two were TERRIBLE.
Now, time to rant:
They had some of the most stupid VA's I had ever heard. (JP Ken>>>>>>>>>>> English Ken) they took out all the AWESOME music in favor of pop music and Paul Gordons crap. (Hugs his Digimon adventure and 02 CDs) They changed the Names of several Digimon, (And every name of every attack. how the hell does Neko Punch become Lightning Paw?)
The Script changes were very awful, alonmg with some very infamous edits. (suc as the dreaded Tortomon scene, movies 1-3 were HEAVILY edited to squish into one Movie.)
the list goes ON.
