My first experiances with anime came in elementary school. Watching Marcoss Plus at my friends birthday parties, then hearing about Dragon ball from my very load chinese friend. My first recollection that is was something different from regular cartoons came when I saw Ninja scroll the movie one late night on Teletoon. One time while bored and randomly searching for stuff on the internet some years later while in junior high, I came across some of the Ranma manga which I love instantly. Then whith the advent of p2p programs I was able to find episodes from the Ranma 1/2 series, and the OVA and eventually Phade's Matriel Girl AMV which lead me here. I signed up at the org foruma few weeks later after finally building up the nerve after lurking for a few days. From there I learned about it all, and with Kazaa i was able to get into COwboy Bebop, trigun, and hellsing hearing all about it here. The next year I bought my first DVD it the macross plus movie, it had to be since it was the anime that really started it all off for me. I evtually found people at schooll who liked anime too and found out about Evangelion and Love Hina from there. I shuffled arounf forums here and there for a bit then eventually wound up know a lot more. My finally and largest step into the universe of anime was when i joined the Iaido club I am in there I met a friend ther who is a huge otaku and he loaned me lots of stuff. And just last month I finally joined an anime club and now I go every wednesday to watch. Now I have over 20 dvd's in my possession and I ahve seen many more series and manga than that. It has been sorta 3 and a half year progessive slide into anime which also kinda has its roots way back when i was kid.
I know it's rambling and long winded, but who I came to anime is sort of an important thing to me, now that I think about it. I could care less if you TLDR'd all of what I just wrote, it was more fun writing it than reciving praise for it.
I hope all the rest of you enjoy your anime too.
