Rachael Lillis .... Sakura (voice: English version)

Wow, people actually beleve what IDMB has? lol, they rely completely on what fans submit, and if you lookat all of the typos they made, you can tell it's not really happening. Also many have failed to noticed that many of the characters are not with the group in charge of the dubbing, Studiopolis, Inc., take a look at ANN for a better list of english characters.
Oooo, let me link that entry so everyone WILL be well informed!

I am thinking that they are proabably going to cut the living day lights out of it, but I always expected that the dvds would have never been cut, but then again I am hearing that they are just now coming out with a dbz uncut box set and that makes me think that all the other dbz box sets were cut. ANd they also cut clips from neon genesis evangelion, and have just recently (like a year or so ago) come out with the uncut versions. It really makes me wonder how cut up my whole anime collection is? This also brings up the question of the Naruto manga, being cut up, which I am currently reading. So, I guess since I proabably wont buy the dvds (to much money) and I'll just watch an episode here and there when it is on. I personally don't really have any feelings about it coming out. The reason I was talking about all the cut stuff was because a lot of peopel where talking about it being cut, and of course that is something I realized, but I never realized how much some animes even in dvd form are cut. Like neon genesis evangelion and dbz. So, maybe they will cut the dvds, and then the fansubs might be better. I don't really understand why they would cut dvd versions, other than to rerelease uncut ones and make more money, but my feelings on all that are that on toonami it will help get more people into anime like DBZ, but if they cut the dvds too and never come out with a non cut dvd collection then it is all pointless. I really wondering if my manga is cut now  ! Oh well the only thing I can be certain of it that Berserk is proabably not cut, it is so violent that there really is no reason for them to cut it.

However for all the cut things in this USA I blame EVIL SOCCER MOMS!

Well, that is my opinion.

The reason the early DBZ stuff was cut so heavly 10 years ago when it was first being edited for U.S. release was because of the time. Now that the furor over blood and death in "cartoons" has calmed, they're re-releasing uncut DVDs of the episodes. It's a unique case because they know it will sell now (otherwise they wouldn't bother).

The EVA release wasn't censored as far as i can recall, so that's a completely different story. Think of the re-release of Eva as a directors cut version of a movie -- that's essentially what it was. Cleaner footage, bonus scenes, etc.

Naruto shouldn't have an issue with being released in an uncut format on DVD. I beleave it's actually stated somewhere that that is the plan. Little is actually being edited out, so the issue isn't that much of a problem if all you're woried about is blood and cloud-covered nude bodies. The question that remains to be answered, and should be in a bout a month or so, is that of the translation. Even if the censors leave a lot of stuff intact, the dub is most likely going to be the basis for the subtitle track on the DVD (i've seen this in a number of titles) so if there are simplifications of plot, themes, etc. they will show up in the new sub as well... most likely...

I'm personally really happy Naruto is coming to America at all. It may end up being an Outlaw Star, where it goes through a couple times on Toonami then gets bought or whatever by Adult Swim.

I'm glad Toonami is getting some new stuff, it just adds more reason to watch it. I lost track of DBZ sometime after the Cell Saga.

Anyways, there is no use complaining because nobody can change anything about it. Toonami has it now and there are certain rules that they must abide by. I don't think parents would enjoy their kids watching something that had the "This show is recommended for viewers over 14 unless adult permission is granted" or whatever.

So... let us think of good things ^_^ like the fact that it is here!

It's cable, so there are few "rules" imposed by 3rd party regulatory bodies. This is purely about self imposed guidelines put in place by the dubbing companies -- not Cartoon Network.
