Are you talkin the movie or actually episode 1? The movie kind of explains what you'll see in the series.

Tis ok. It's a good anime though. The movie helped explain the series better.

No way. The movie and the anime were two completely different storylines. They were completely unrelated, save for the fact that they used the same characters.
