v [mid 90's anime show?]

Post by blueshogun96 » Wed Sep 14, 2005 5:34 pm

Back in the mid 90's (1993, 1994 I think think it was), I came across this amine tv show. I had never seen anime until then. I looked on the tv guide channel and it just had the letter v. So I was just wondering if v was a tv show and an anime or somethin?

I remember a live action show called V in the early 80s, but can't think of an anime called V. Can you describe it a little more?

Didn't Voltron run around that time? That's the only "V" anime I know from that time...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I see you changed my title, thank you sir, that sound more interesting :)

I can't remember it too clearly, but I'll do the best I can. There was some young guy that had this thing, I think it was called a lens. The lens could be used to communicate somehow. All I remember is that he was so bent on returning it to someone. The guy did have a motor cycle. He was riding it alot and I do remember this scene where he was on a giant ramp of some sort that seemed tocurve upward and go upsidedown. The poor little guy was being hunted down. I can't exactly remember why. I hate to say it but almost everything else is a meer blur in my head :(

Is it Lensman perhaps? Doesn't start with a V, but they used to show that a lot on the Sci-Fi channel around that time.

The never showed Turn-A Gundam on TV in the 90s, did they? I know sometimes they spell it with an upside-down A, or just V Gundam. (There's also Nu-Gundam from Char's Counterattak, but that's v-Gundam, with a lowercase V - the greek letter Nu.)

Waitaminute... that IS Lensmen!!!!!
I've never seen the show, but I've read the E.E "Doc" Smith novels that the show's based on, and that's EXACTLY what The Lensmen Saga is... you can find the movie on eBay, and probably the show, too. If you REALLY want the good stuff, though, go to Barnes & Noble or Borders, or any big bookseller and look for E.E. "Doc" Smith's novels - the first one is called "Galactic Patrol" (A story that is eerily similar to Star Wars, though it was written 30 years BEFORE SW... Lucas pushing copyright laws, anybody? :D ).
