isn't that basicly Naruto. anyway I liked the dubbed version I just wished they would have left in the nose bleeds and not tamperd with the names of the jutsus, I mean what sounds more misterious Kage bushin no jutsu or multi shadow clon jutsu. and they shouldn't have messed with the music.
harem no jutsu

I wouldn't really complain about the voices all that much if it weren't for the dull acting of almost all the voice actors. They speak exactly like they are reading from the script. Which they are reading from it but when they should have an excited tone they lack it.
A prime example of this would be in ep 4 when Naruto grabs Kakashi from behind. Kakashi says "oh no from behind...." in the most monotonistic manner I have ever heard in dubbing. It almost borders on those old Martial arts dubs.

then ochimaru's(sp) will be soundling like frieza in the old dbz dubs
one piece they trashed to appeal to kids, even if it looked like it should, it really wasnt, adn naruto is one at 9 EST, little kids still watch it, so what can you do, the time slot was a clear indication of how they was going to go, but its not that bad so far, it seems they're sticking to most of the original

Exactly, end of story. I think Naruto's voice is just fine. He doesn't have to sound exactly like the girl voice actor for the Jap version to be great ya know.dokool wrote:Which is to say he sounds like every member of his fanbase I've heard complaining about the dub.VegettoEX wrote:Naruto sounds exactly like a hyper, confused, pre-pubescent young boy.
Jesus christ people, it's not *that* bad. From looking at the preview clip I'd say Iruka's voice was pretty bad, but Naruto sounded just about spot-on...
And if anyone calls Sasuke's/Prince of Persia's voice ass, they'll recieve a personal sword slash from Link himself! Just look at what he has to say about this topic:

Greg Ayers said something during a panel that fits the point you made. Something along the lines of, when fans complain that the English voices don't sound like the Japanese, you have to remember that when the Japanese actors recorded their voices, they had no other voice to compare themselves to. Since the English voices don't compare themselves to the Japanese, it's basically the same thing. It's similar to stage acting, when an English voice adapts a role, they make it unique to provide a different experience for the viewer who may have already seen the series. When I take up a role on stage, do I compare myself to someone else who has portrayed the same role? No. One, because I want to make my performance unique, and two, I may never have seen anyone perform in the play I'm in, so I would have nothing to compare myself to.Rurounikeitaro wrote:He doesn't have to sound exactly like the girl voice actor for the Jap version to be great ya know.
Probably too busy to be here right now.
