Your thoughts on DUB 'english'

Dubs and subs... I believe each acomplish a certain purpose...

Subs are good for you to 'test drive' the anime. Give it a shot, and if you like it then good for you, if not well then good you didn't spend any money on it.

If you like the anime, you should buy the dub simple as that. Most dubs aren't as bad as people say they are, and buying them puts money back in the loop so they can make other animes.

Some people think dubs are 'evil' (And yes I really saw some people say that...) That is simply not true. dubs are a great thing, because now you can understand what the characters are saying without looking and reading the subtitles (or maybe I'm just being lazy)

Basically subs should be watched first, and then if you like the anime... then buy the dub! that is at least what I believe.

Yes, but many anime have to go through script changes because they say something stupid or inappropriate that you can't say on American television. I mean that's in America utt I know lots of European countries that get to see uncut and unedited dubs. So, yes you can understand what they are saying without having to read, but you don't know if that's what they were really saying.

What make's you think you're getting what they are really saying from a SUB made from some 'what's his face' in Miami Florida for example...

Dubs are official, subs are not... I would put more stock in what the dub says that what a sub made by a fan says. Subs aren't always right, and I'm sure dubs aren't always right either. And America get's plenty of uncut dubs... if you look for them on unedited DVD's.

Personally I try not to think about what the people in the subs are saying because the Author's of said subs will probably put lines in that may not be Really correct, but rather appeals to the people watching them. So the only real way to know is to know the language and watch both the raw and the unedited dub... and then see.

Sometimes the DVDs have different dialogue than they do on T.V. DBZ, for instance..

Hercule = T.V.

Mr. Satan = DVD

Neither subs nor dubs are better than the other. Just depends on your personal taste.

I wasn't talking about those subs, I was talking about the subs you see on the net (Dattebayo for instance) Just UNofficial subs. /There's plenty of em out there/

English isn't my first language and yet I still prefer watching all my Anime in English.

First of all, I think that there are many great Dubs out there, plus; by listening to it in English, it helps me to “connect” better with the characters because it's a language I have become to understand.

And lastly; I now have far too many Favorite English VAs that I simply love listening to:
Crispin Freeman, Steven Blum, Liam O’Brien, Chris Patton, Jay Hickman, Ethan Murray, Lex Lang, Kirk Thornton, Dave Wittenberg, Jamieson Price, Illich Guardiola...the list goes on.

well thats good for you, i have many VA's that i like (but dont know the names of them)

but yeah i dont downlaod anime off the net i buy them when they come out onto DVDs in australia... i think its wrong for some reason.. but anyway.....
