This movie looks awsome!! but I don't get why the children are wearing the masks? aw who cares and the best part of it is that it was made by the same person who made paranoia agent. anyone who has seen that know its going to be creepy and sweet!!! if anyone else knows more about the movie please don't hesistate to leave me some feed back. :D

Uh, Kakurenbo is NOT created by Satoshi Kon. Lots of the staff who made that short movie are new, but despite I did hear raving reviews about this.

In other news, Adult Swim is going to premiere that movie on October 30 so you guys have a chance to check it out.

All right! Did anyone have a chance to see Kakurenbo on Adult Swim last night?

Considering the shortness of the "movie", I have to accept the fact that there wasn't going to be much character development (not to mention it's not going to explain much of the background stuff). So basically, I took it as an animated creepy short story. The show didn't waste anytime showing off the creepiness of the demons chasing the kids in the fox masks. Of course the ending was.....whoa....

I'm one of the few who enjoyed it. :D

I enjoyed it a lot. The story is nicely creepy and the cgi is wonderful. Watch it in a dark room, late at night. The fox masks were great, they gave you a sense of the characters personality without facial expressions, a very neat touch. I put some screencaps in the thread of questions about Kakurenbo.
I bought the dvd at Best Buy.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I thought it was very creepy. Something to be enjoyed by otaku's all around.
*Highlight to read spoiler*

Basically there kids are playing hide and seek. This one girl is the one who is supposed to capture them. So eveyrone's thinking they are playing hide and seek until the kids start to dissapear. They are all running from these horrible beasts which are capturing kids. As the movie goes on eventually all but three are left. Out of the three there is a girl who is left. It turns out she is a deamon. What happens is she captures kids by playing hide and seek and uses them to power this city. The person left last is possesed and he must continue the game to keep everything powered.

That's what I got. I missed part of it. A truly creepy anime.

Pretty cool for a short film. Nice and crepy, and the animation looked a lot like GitS2, really cool!

Short and sweet. Very well done and a nice way to end it too.
Probably too busy to be here right now.
