Ok, I have a question for all you old timer anime fans out there.

In your opinion, what is the best type of character that will bring life to an anime? What kind of character really interests you the most?

The one that motivates the other characters, like the Ryoko type, she keeps things moving along.

From what anime is Ryoko? Please do be specific, because, well....there are a lot of animes out there that I have seen and Ryoko is a fairly common name...so is Yuki...and Hikari...and Tetsuya...etc...yah..-_-''

I'm assuming he means from Tenchi Muyo.

But anyways, I believe the more comic relief main character that can give a laugh but still completely own when the time is right.

(somewhat like Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin)
Why do people complain about things? Why can't they just be happy that they were made for them?
I respect everyone's right to not like something, but complaining about it will acomplish nothing...

Mmm... I kind of like the type that's a big rock headed. XD Like Ichigo from Bleach. He's dependable, a bad ass, but he's also SO dumb/naive to certain things.

So I guess the block headed dependable type. 'Cause you can ALWAYS rely on them to get the job done, but can also depend on their naivtivity to create very much humorous situations.

No doubt bring in the one who can save your butt when you get in a mess. Like Allen Schezar from Escaflowne. A brilliant swordsman, brilliant mind, and a gentleman....plus incredibly handsome. Yeah definately bring in his type.

Games probably don't count, but in my oppinion Cloud Strife is the best hero charakter ever, in anything.

Personally, the character trait I think is most important in anime is depth. They can't be impulsive robots; they need opinions, hopes, aspirations, fears, and they need to come off realistically, not just yell out their emotions and stomp around.

I like main characters that are really human; they aren't sure of a whole lot about themselves or everything else, they have fears, wants. My favorite are the tragic heroes (Spike, Edward Elric, Guts), who fall due to their own obsessions - they're the most realistic.

It's great when the character is incredibly powerful physically, but is still meek inwards; Gohan as a child, for instance.

And by the wat, Vash isn't alcoholic - he can't even hold his beer well.
