thats true but its really annoying when you get, the look where theyd be like what the? ya know. Its kind of an extra strain, at least for me, because my costume has to be perfect so people will know who i am.

I'd cosplay, but I have a major issue that all my major favorite characters are male, and there is no way I could ever pass for a man.

Probably if someone did the costume for me or if I bought the costume somwhere...i would cosplay. But I cannot for my life make a costume and I cannnot in my life sew without bleeding due to the stupid sharp needles even with a thimble on.

I'd do it. But the only problem is that i'd probably have to make my own costume which I don't have the patience to do

I don't know if you've been to an anime con, but for at least Neko, AnimeUSA, Otakon, and Katsu, half of the fmeale cosplayers were crossplaying. A couple years ago it was all about female Vash, then female Duo, and now its female Ed (FMA). There was an army of them at USA7 :)

I think most girls can pull off the cosplay of a male. I mean it's not like it would cause a major uproar. It's when guys cosplays certain women that people get all indignant.

So yeah, cosplay a guy, you could pull off no problem without anyone complaining. I've seen people do it all the time. There's alot of girls that cosplay naruto if I'm correct.

Fun fact...run a search for Gundam SEED cosplay one of these days.

Prettymuch all the good ones (regardless of character gender) are female

(...kind of says something about Hirai right there, but I digress.)

Considering how feminine many men in anime look, crossplay (at least for females) is not a big deal, and most female cosplayers I know have crossplayed at least once. (There still seems to be more of a stigma attached to male crossplayers though.) Sure, you may not be able to pull off Batou very well, but most likely you could make a believable bishounen.
