so you mean to tell me there are no anime writers out there that are something other than Aisan? No americian anime writers, or french, or german, or something? Any language can be translated into japanese. I don't mean to offend but it's hard to believe that if a japanese company is presented with a good idea from someone that's not japanese that they would turn it down. If it gets turned down, i think it would be because they just didn't like it and not because it was from some westerner.

This goes to show that you know absolutely nothing about Japanese culture and stand even less of a chance than originally thought.doodad64 wrote:I don't mean to offend but it's hard to believe that if a japanese company is presented with a good idea from someone that's not japanese that they would turn it down. Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.
There's nothing to worry about.

Well, I'd like to say that you are not alone. I have 2 really cool ideas I'd love to see become manga or anime. It would be great. But as for actuallly getting it somewhere and getting your ideas heard is another story. You could team up with an artist and try for an 'original english language' manga or try the computer thing like the others suggested. Good luck anyway.

If you want to make it into a manga, look into Tokyopop's "Rising Stars of Manga". You can submit your manga, and the best get published in compilations a few times a year. Grand prize winners get published in their own graphic novels. (Look up the Tokyopop title "Peach Fuzz" - That was a Rising Stars winner.)
I have no artistic skill, but can write.. and my ex girlfriend is an artist.. so we were going to enter Rising Stars at one point, but never had time. And now we have broken up, so I don't see "Hook-Up Sakusen" ever getting published, unless I learn how to draw.

Or if your idea is short and stupid, you can try for Adult Swim, considering you have all sorts of public speaking skills and are an adult to sell your vision.

Might as well comment on this little thing.
50 pages does not usually consist of 30 episodes. Even if you were creating a manga first you need a very indepth plot, character development. Not to mention your going to be creating a world that is completely your own. Everything has to be unique to your show. Sure you can pull some from different era's but your trying to make a show that should require thousands of hours of preparation just for an out line. If you really want to create a series that has these great amount of episodes then the outline for the series should be at least 30 pages if not more.
The normal length of a screen write for any give hour and a half movie runs about twenty to thirty pages alone. Most of these are just the lines for the actors and actresses. Now the producers script can be almost twice to three times that length.
It's cool that you want to create this but your jumping into a buiness where hundred have years of experience over you. Also if your jumping into a market that is primarily run by japanese artists then your the minority. Like most others said you probably wont be that accepted.
So basically it comes down to this.
Each episodes script should be twenty pages, allowing for room for changes, notes, and other tidbitts your going to throw it.
Voice actors. Which professionals are the best considering it takes talent to voice act.
Money. Yeah that's just a whole thing in itself. You could do it on your mac but your going to be lacking alot of the editing tools that you find in the multi thousand dollars programs and systems.
I say go for it but there's a good amount of things you need to really take into consideration before you start throwing mass amounts of time into this.
My other suggestion is have the outline first so you can take into affect any plot changes or twists. The last thing you want is missing a important reference to a previous episodes.
I may sound self righteous but I've had already submitted a few books to various publishing companies to get published. Even some T.V. Show concepts and ideas and this was their general response towards me.

What i have written is not what i would submit to anyone. The 30 pages (more like 60 now) is just me writing down the idea to get it on paper and would have to be re written again, and surely more than once. I agree with the fact that it definitely has to be longer and i am prepared to go into more detail.
