It is entertaining and I like what I've seen of it. I haven't finished the first season even, so I can't speak for it overall, but it can be strangely addicting.

I've seen the entire series as well as the three OVA's, and if you are interested in other action anime such as Yu Yu Hakusho or Naruto, I'd recommend watching it. There's more info available here.

I love this series, by the way - it's one of my top favorite

Really, though, try out Hunter X Hunter. It's a bit slow at the beginning, but you'll find it has a bit more depth than your average shounen.

The first story arc does tend to drag a little, but it's well worth it when it pays off with great character and devolpment. Just started the first OVA.

Seriously though, HxH was created by the same man who did Yu Yu. Like everyone said it starts slow but picks up and gets deep into story and character development. Luckily the anime stopped before the ant arc so it ends on a relative high note.

Though I'd really like to see the Chimera Ant arc made into an anime, once it's finished. >_<
