If you have a specific question about one of these series, post it, but don't just ask something that doesn't really have a purpose. As far as this forum goes it's only been a year and 12 days since I've started posting, but I at least read links people gave me before asking about them.

And in this case, the thread seems to fall under the versus thread category.

As for how to get useful suugestions, don't start with the anime you're looking at buying, start with anime you've liked and ask for sugestions, and why people think you might like whatever show they suggest. That way, you might discover a new series you otherwise wouldn't have, and you get answer more custom fit to your wants. Inu-yasha, Trigun, and Fullmetal Alchemist are all good anime, but with no idea what you like, answers become guesses at most.
