Android Kikaider
Hey Everyone,
I made this thread in dedication to an Anime that has went off of Cartoon Network cause of the lack of episodes^^'
I really like this Anime infact I have all 4 Volumes on DVD and I really wish they hadn't let the series die...
Here's something for you to do:
If you could continue Android Kikaider where it ended in the series, what would you have him face? Would you have him find himself? Would you have him find a mate? Tell me, I am very interested ^^

1. Your sig is FAR too big.
2. I actually think where it ended was perfect; I sort of wish they hadn't continued onto Kikaider-001 (The OVA), it wasn't as good as the original.
I wish, though, that they'd shown Jiro coming home to Mitsuko and Masaru.
Kikaider was interesting; it was based on a live-action show from way back when (which, of course, sucked like nobody's business - someone just tell the Japanese to stick to animation, please!), but it turned out to be an amazing show. Still, I think 13 episodes was just enough.
Cartoon Network didn't give it the boot because it had too few episodes (FLCL has 6, half of Kikaider's), but because it wasn't getting enough raitings. Back in the day, they had some really good animes (Gundam, Candidate for Goddess, Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho), but for some reason people didn't tune into them enough. Blame it on Adult Swim being new then, or that they just didn't pick some of the right things. The Gundam shows they chose were STILL outshined by Wing (still my favorite, all these years later), Candidate for Goddess was okay, but not amazing, Yu Yu Hakusho found its way to Toonami, where it didn't suffer as much as I'd feared, and Cowboy Bebop is STILL a headliner in their Saturday lineup.

Okay, I realize you two are noobies on the org, so I'm gonna be nice with this.
The forums are a place for idle chit-chat. If you're bored, IM someone about it, go read something, or watch some TV. It's nothing against you guys, but I will admit that these forums are by far the most well-maintained, thought-out ones I've ever seen. Almost any other site I've seen is a disorganized garble, with very little to do with anything the site's about. Let's face it: these forums keep well on-track with their intention (although I wish they'd change their stand on what's Anime and what's not... there's already been a thread about this and we've come to the conclusion that Anime is a style originated in Japan, where Japanimation is animation, usually Anime, that comes from Japan specifically; well, they're in charge and I ain't, so that's that).

Really? You thought it was fine at 13 episodes? Well, I guess it did end good. I just wish they had made it longer, then maybe it could've got good ratings:p People could've gotten the chance to see it ^^EmilLang1000 wrote:1. Your sig is FAR too big.

Yes, I had heard of the live action show and unfortunately seen pics of it -_-'
Yes, Yu Yu Hakusho did good on Toonami! But, I would like to see an anime beat out DBZ :p
That show lasted for the longest time, I swear... and even worse, they showed re-runs over and over and just start over the Frieza Saga -_-'

...bored enough to read the forum rules?
anyway...I liked Android Kikaider, but couldn't catch it most of the time (as it was on quite late for me when it was showing)
so I got bits and peices.
from what I've read, it sounds like I would've wanted to see it end.
The thing that made it stand out in my mind was the guitar on Kikaider's back (can't remember what his other name was at the moment)

Dude...please don't tell me you're saying Battle Royale was a bad idea (...the sequel, yeah, nothing to save there...but the first was great)EmilLang1000 wrote:Kikaider was interesting; it was based on a live-action show from way back when (which, of course, sucked like nobody's business - someone just tell the Japanese to stick to animation, please!)

Okay, yes, Battle Royale was a good movie, and I'm not including Akira Kurosawa in this statement, but think of how many Japanese live action things have you seen that were just HORRIBLE.
I mean, sure, America has some terrible shows, but nothing like Japanese shows... they rival PORN in crap-tacularity (mostly because the acting blows monkey chunks). For god's sake, these people invented the idea of Sentei! Power Rangers, people! And this is there typical sci-fi show! I'm sorry, but I would rather shoot myself than see Gankutsuou, Monster, Ranma, or Macross be turned into a live action, because they'd butcher it! Think about what they did to Gundam! Anybody happen to remember G-Savior? I rest my case.
