Do you need blood to enjoy a show? Just becuase in the anime Haku is merely hit hard instead of Kakashi ramming his hand all the way through him, does that make a show less enjoyable?predatorwarrior wrote:the manga...why?...because there are thing that are cut in the anime...the very bloody parts..and the manga explanations about chakra and other ninja things

I would decide for the manga, just because of the simple reason that the anime suffers under the "dbz-syndrome":
th characters confront each other for hours until they come to the action or even words. plus, the often-occuring flashbacks are an issue.
the manga is more straight-forward, but the anime is, though having much problems, worth the watch....

no...i´m just saying...why trying to adapt a manga that has very violent combats to the t.v ...just for selling merchandaising...but heres is the trick...cut all the violent parts...why???...because anime is only for little kids???...i don´t agree with that...but this is not the first time and it won´t be the last time that violent anime that has been censored...there is a large listMalificus wrote:Do you need blood to enjoy a show? yo
You have to admit there are characters in the Anime that the japanese voices are perfect. Also EVERY time Lee fights--it's just great. The manga is better though because there is no filler. The recent fish monster thing was horrible. Also what was the deal with Tony the Tiger Mizuki?

First of all, that's very hard to understand; secondly, you have to remember one thing:predatorwarrior wrote:no...i´m just saying...why trying to adapt a manga that has very violent combats to the t.v ...just for selling merchandaising...but heres is the trick...cut all the violent parts...why???...because anime is only for little kids???...i don´t agree with that...but this is not the first time and it won´t be the last time that violent anime that has been censored...there is a large listMalificus wrote:Do you need blood to enjoy a show? While the target demographic for Naruto is 14-16 year olds, Shonen Jump's average audience is about 16-24. College students read Jump mostly, therefore there's more acceptance of violence. Just because they're Japanese doesn't mean they believe that five-year-olds can watch things like Battle Royale; they do have a age-rating system. They, like most of the world, view violence and sex as facts of life; that doesn't mean, though, that you should let toddlers see it in mass amounts, because they probably aren't mature enough to handle what they're seeing.
Every anime is toned down a little if its being put on TV, just because it IS a mass media device. If a little kid walks in at 7pm and catches someone's arms being ripped off in a painful, graphic way, he's gonna be scared out of his mind or worse; Manga, on the other hand, is mor controllable - it's a book, meaning it's very hard to just catch a glimpse of anything that's that disturbing, and even if you do, it's a picture, rather than something moving, so your suspension of disbelief is turned WAY down.
I don't mind the lack of violence from anime to TV; one of the biggest complaints I hear from people about dubs is that they cut down on the violence and and cursing; from a writing standpoint, that's great. You DO NOT need the cursing to make something good - in fact, excessive cursing is a clear sign of BAD writing - and the violence, while entertaining to a degree, just gets silly, frankly, in large amounts; it's a crutch - when they have no story, they go for the shock factor to try and make audiences stay tuned, and they do this by having bloodier and bloodier scenes.
Take two different stories: Lord of the Rings, and Robotech: The Macross Saga. Both had violence galour, in a manner, but none of it was exactly bloody, just epic-warfare, and they both had VERY little cursing, even in the original Macross; yet both are masterpieces.
Just because Naruto's violence got turned down doesn't mean it's bad because of that. Frankly, I think the Anime is bad in general; it's an overhyped, newer DBZ that's destined to go the way of DBZ. It's plot and pacing aren't as well done as the manga's, but very few animes are. There's just something more literary about the mangas, more artistic. With the show, the plot is shoved into 22 minutes of time, but in the Manga, you have 16 to 18 pages for something that may make up only half or a third of a show, so more time can be spent on advancing characters, more can be explained, and a better pacing emerges.

I havent read a full Naruto Manga yet but i know I prefer it to the series. I got more info in ten pages than 2 episoides! Plus, I care about the characters more from the manga. And its just SOMETHING about actually HEARING naruto say 'BELIEVE IT' in that darned VOICE _IRKS_THE_H~LL OUT OF ME.
Anyway. I mean not liking the manga because you have to read it, come on! And I think its awesome when they continue the sketch plot to another page (the jump from one page to another) The animes style is hot granted, but its something about that good old fashioned pencil work that i like, what can I say, i have an old soul. GIVE ME LINES!!!!!!!
