I think the big thing is: for it to get really good, they have to up the antes and energy to the point of Duel Monsters, and throw the real game out the door and make insanely unbalanced and godly cards for the characters to use, rather than make crappy decks out of boring real cards (come on, who doesn't wish Deck Destruction Virus of Death / Crush Card did what it does in the show - that would be awesome)
That's cuz you watched Yu Gi Oh by 4Kids...I been watching Yu Gi Oh last night a japanese episode, and They respect all rules on the game.
Does that really matter? :?

I've seen bizzare moves made by Duelists that's virtually impossible in the real game (like activating regular Spell Cards during the opponent's turn; you can't do that unless it's a Quick Spell Card). And let's not get into the arbituary yet ridiculious Attack boost some monsters get from effects that don't even exist in the real game.

Ok, I believe what EmilLang1000 is trying to say is the card rules in the anime and the actual game are VERY inconsistant with each other (well once the Battle City arc kicks in, that becomes less of an issue especially with introduction of Tributing). You're trying to say that the Japanese version is less consistant with the actual card rules than 4Kids' version.

How about the episode where Yugi battles against Kaibas Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, fusions it with his Mammoth Graveyard and because thats an undeath creature the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon starts to decay and loses his attack-points.... I doubt that that`s diffrent in the japanese episode and I don`t think thats possible in the actual game.

And what Angel said about activating regular Spell Cards during the opponent's turn, that happens very often in the show. I remember Yugi once activating resurrection during his opponent attackt him with a monster... :?

Well back to the actual question....I agree with older_gohan there, GX is ok but the "original" Yo Gi Oh is better and it has Kaiba!!!!
GX has Alexis so there`s a reason to watch it..... :P

Ok, maybe GX is better about Game Rules, but I prefer Yu Gi Oh Duel Monsters Storyline.
Them are differentes animes, one has better storyline, and the other has better game rules.

(I am always talking about japanese episodes)

I think to, GX is based on a school that plays the card game *i think* and its stupid where last time it was just a random card game that got popular. It was more intresting seeing him battle it out on the street, then the school yard

That's your opinion and I respect it, as I expect you respect my opinion about I prefer a storyline about teenages on a school having adventures.
