Well, i "litterally" compared the voices at the same time between the dub and the sub. I had a sub on my computer and played it at the exact same time as the dub was on TV. What i got was that the voices were very very similar, but i liked the english cast better. It's actually rare for me to say something like this because i've always been more for the sub than the anime in most series.
Another example of a well dubbed anime, imo, was Fruits Basket, where the VA for Al of FMA also did Hiro Sohma's voice (he did pretty good too if you ask me. trust me, i know it's not easy. i've done a dub thing for one of my friend's online cartoons before and it took me several times to get it right.. > >)!

I agree with you Gohan,I think Evangelion's dub sucks too!!
The English dub for FMA is one of the better dubs out there right now. When comparing to shows like naruto, Excel Saga, Mai HiME(*Gasp*) or Love Hina(*Vomits*) you'll realize just HOW good this dub is. Since I haven't seen all of the series in english, but still about 55% of it, I can't really compare it with the Sub version, but I still think that Romi Paku(Park, whatever) is still good in her performance as Ed in the sub. I like this dub almost as much as I like the Cowboy Bebop dub, which is saying alot for me, considering it's my favorite dub.

I love the FMA dub!! I think they did a great job with getting the right voice actors. And darnit! I love ALL of their voices!! Well... maybe not Nina's but... we'll just forget about that
Anyways, I think the voices are great, the suite the characters very well and they aren't annoying as hell like the voices of the Rurouni Kenshin characters in the English dub.

really, just something about the way Gendo talks thats annoying like Shinji's and Asuka's constant bitching about things that are completely stupid.
And as for Al, the only thing i didn't like was the way his voice didn't get all messed when he turned black from Kimbley, unlike the sub.
As for anyone else, Nina's voice was so bubbly adorable it made for tragedy all the more sadder when she talked to her dad while they were hugging, Wrath and Envy's voices got annoying over time.
Scar's was one of the best on there, same for Hughes and Armstong(better than the sub)
