Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Then you have people like me who haven't gotten to play the game and loved the movie because it was a helluva lot better than Spirits Within. Advent Children actually had a game to spin off of.

The animation was spectacular. They had their shadows and water textures down almost to the letter (thought the black water bit could have stood a bit more smoother out) and the hair (except for Clouds but he must have four bottls of gel on it) actually moved the way it does in fights.

In terms like that, Advent Children is unrivaled even by Star Wars Ep. 3 (and that's major praise coming from a Star Wars fan!)

Yeah the storyline could have used some cleaning up and a tad bit more showing of some of the other characters everybody likes from FF7, but the story was more about Cloud and Tifa and the two orphans Marlene and Denezel.

I liked the movie over all, but it sort of felt pointless. The main bad guy returns to the main good guy can defeat him again. I liked the fight seens and the the way the characters look, but over all I felt that the story was pointless. Don't get me wrong I did like a lot of other stuff about it though.

Um, Marlene's not an orphan. Tifa looks after her for Barret, her adoptive father. Pausing in a moment's reflection, I guess that since her real parents are dead, she is an orphan, but since Barret adopted her..? I'm rambling again. I'd like to see a story with Marlene and Denzel too.

What was up with Denzel? He came out of nowhere. He's not in the game at all, and then he shows up in Advent Children like we should know him. (Plus he turned Cloud into a baby-sitter

)
Oh, and Cloud cant ride his motorsycle to the City of the Ancients from Midgar. There's a mountain chain, an ocean, a forest, and a glacier between the two.

....i send the movie to you but you were too busy too watch it...by the way did anyone watched the ova...final fantasy last order???....damn i watched it 20 times lol

I just bought the movie in english and absolutely loved it. The fights were amazing and the graphics were beyond spectacular. By far the best CGI movie ever made. Never played the games but I loved the movie.

there was a whole on-line story book thing going on explaining what happened in the two years between and the origins or denzel and what everyone else was doing.

I finally saw this a couple of days ago, along with XxxHolic and a couple of other animes. My thoughts:

Cloud - Emo. Actually looks Japanese, which is amazing.

Kadaj - Really Emo. Like a character in a certain Alfred Hitchcock film.

Geostigma kids - Seriously Emo.

Vincent - Actually not as Emo as I expected.

Aerith -

If they could find a way to bring Sephiroth back, they sure as hell could have found a way to resurrect Aerith for keeps.

Tifa - Breasts smaller than what I expected (which is no bad thing), resembles Rinoa from FF VIII. No Tifa nude scene.

Yuffie - Not enough of her in the movie. Also, no Yuffie nude scene.

Barrett - Token Black™.

Plot: Barely there.

Special effects: Easily the best part of the movie. It's amazing what you can achieve in filmmaking when you simply cut corners on writing a viable screenplay.

Cloud's Sword: Let's have Mr. Freud tell us about that one.
