What a Heck of an Ending (*Massive Spoilers*)

Post by older_gohan » Tue May 30, 2006 8:14 am

Ok, who saw the end of GITS 2nd gig?

If you didn't and want to know, here's what ended up happening. The Major and Kousei are trapped underneath an avalanche of concrete in the middle of Degima while the defence forces commence a barrage on Degima.

Kousei and the Major are talking and eventually relize they were the childhood friends from one of the previous episodes. Then Kousei tell some personal wants that he has. The biggest being the want for a person he can open up and talk to about anything and not be scared to say what he means. He then asks the Major if she has someone like this which she realizes that she does; Batou.

In the mean time during the midst of the Barrage, the cabinet in japan quickly approved a peace treaty with the U.S. in order for them to bring one of their nuclear subs over and launch a nuke in the middle of the barrage. Then they plan on saying it was the refugees on degima that had nukes and used it as a last ditch effort for retaliation and committed suicide.

While this is all happening the Prime Minister has been put in containment by the other Cabinet members who are now working League with Gohda in hopes of wiping the refugees of the face of the earth and forming their own new ideal government.

While that is happening the rest of section 9 has smuggled plutonium into degima and plans on carrying it back out the front gate and using it as the supposed plutonium that was already in their.

While that is happening the Tachkomas have been trying to hack the U.S. sub to prevent the sub from launching. But instead of doing that they decide to bring down satelites infront of the missles path to stop it in mid air.

So what happens you wonder?

Batou leaves the group to go and rescue the major from under the concrete. He does and they take Kousei into custody as well.

The Prime Minister and the chief with part of section nine retake the seat and call off the strike. They place the chief cabinet member under arrest for planning a Cout de tat. Then they go to arrest Gohda.

The rest of section nine manages to bring the 'Supposed' plutonium into the defense force custody making it seem like the only plutonium had been taken and is no longer a threat.

Gohda is about to leave the building and run to the U.S. when section nine makes their move and arrests him infront of the elevator. Gohda tells him that they have no proof or jurisdiction. Then the Chief says that the prime minister has given them permission to keep someone of Gohda's talents in Japan, even if it requires excessive force. That's when the elevator opens and the Major is standing their in camoflauge. She blow's Gohda's away with her Seburo.

The Tachkoma's have brought down a satelite in the path of missles blowing it out of the air. The only problem is that the satelite is their own A.I. storage. So they sacrifice their A.I. to protect the refugees. (Very noble and tear jerking)

Now section 9 has different think tanks and it looks like their more to come. What a good ending <3

Anyone elses thoughts?

Yeah, the blue think tanks (tachkoma but I can't spell japanese) do a sing-along as the crash with their sattelite with a missle.

seeing as it was Batou and Motoko in the elevator, i wouldn't be surprised if it was him who did shot up Gohda's face :P

And it was pretty sad how the Tachkoma's sung their last tune like that.

But it did seem like such an honorable end for the tachkomas.

And yes Kousei did die unfortunately.

I remember that.

Yeah, it was a pretty charged ending. It's been a while, but I seem to recall there being something pretty sexy about apples.
