Evangelion Ending

Ok I ordered the movies and series as a gift to myself. So I will get my ending hopefully but I just finished watching the series

Neon Genesis Evangelion

and well...

I DIDN'T KNOW WTF WAS GOING ON. Ok it was about the human instumentality project right? But what was with shinji getting applauded and then an abrupt ending with no point? There was no closure of cliffhanger just randomness!

Am I missing something or did they not know how to finish with those last 2 episodes.

It's a long and complicated story. It involves running out of money, disputes over how diferent people wanted to handle things, and fan disapointment.

Watch the movies for a better ending.

Shinji was in the EVA for the entire second half, and even the ending I would presume.

Just to mention it, there are a few other endings and continuations to look at that follow up from the original ending:

- Fan continuations, like EVA-R (which begins after the original 26th episode and not only adds to the story, but also has two endings - one integrating the events of End of Eva and an entirely original ending in keeping with the original TV series ending);
- Angelic Days / Girlfriend of Steel 2: A manga story that continues in the "dating-simish" world you saw in Episode 26.

Exactly. The original ending was too deep and the art style too complex for most eva fans to understand, let alone appreciate.

I took some HARD thinking and wikipedia reading to understand the end of evangelion, and I still don't fully get it.
I THINK I GET IT!

It kinda gues like this(I think):

FULL EXPINATION

Gendo wanted to be reunited with his wife Yui.
For this he needed Rei who was the container of Liliths soul.

SEELE wanted to bring forth the instrumentality project, basically dropping everyones AT fields, loosing our indvidiuality, loosing loneliness, losing pain, becoming one.

This is a good and bad thing.
Good: We're all freakin hapyp and liquid!!! =D
Bad: We're all freakin liquid and happy??? D=

Well Rei decides she's not a puppet and acts on her own, returning Lilith's soul to her body.
Now the angel that reunites with Adam will be able to controll the instumentality project.

In this case it was unit 01.
IF you recall Gendo put Adam(Adam was fused in his hand, show in directo's cut or HERE->http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... i_Hand.jpg) in Rei's womb (OMG she's 14 his hand is inside her sexual organs ew ew ew ew) Thus fusing Adam and Lilith (BTW Kaworu is the container for Adam's soul, like Rei si for Lilith) Anyway they fuse and rei grows in to an ultrasized naked teenager...yes, anyway Unit 01 turns in to the tree of life(read: I'VE GOT THE POWER!).
So he goes in to Rei's forehead, fusing, and now having the power to cause instrumentality.
Now it's like this.

Shinji has suffered his whole life he starts the instrumentality, dropping everyone's AT fields by bringing forth an image of a loved one (HUG ME SEMPAI!), he goes from psycho-freaud shit...am I allowed to say shit on this forum BTW I forgot, anyway...
He learns that he would rather be an indvidiual and with other people and hurt than to be that LCL soup. So he stays solid. And anyone who will truly want to will return to soild.
So far Only Shinji(cuz he knows what really happened) has done it and Asuka(Becasue she doesn't want to depend on anyone and live alone). (BTW anyone noticed Asuka's bandages are like Rei's?)

Now in his head, Shinji learnt that SUBCONCIUSLY he wants to kill those who hurt him and strangels Asuka. BUT He doesn't kill her. He stops. He can't do it. He can't do what he really wants. He is not a strong person. Asuka seeing this being a strong persong feels disgusted ''I feel sick''.

In adition Eva 01 is undestructible and floats around through space forever,ever,ever(actualyl 200 years later it was found by a tie fighter and used to make spare plates for Darth Vader's armour), thus keeping with it humanitys history, proof that even when the sun and earth and everything is gone. Weere here.

I think I got most of it right, anyone wanna comment me?
BTW the entery plugs are always filled with LCL right? Why does it never look like they're in liquid, even if LCL is transparent?

SO SO SORRY for double posting(NO EDIT BUTTON?!!?), but I just want to add that post was for the end of Evangelion, the original ending is great if you're in to psychology and stuff like that, wich I found a challange to understand. Si it was good.
But from an anime fan point of view....
I WANTED A MEGA MECHA SHOWDOWN!

Well it's okay cuz I got it in the movie ^^ yay

Boy the original fans were pissed. They sent him death threats. Stuff like ''I'm going to kill you''...now that's an original death threat if I ever saw one XD

But it actually reminds me of The Matrix revolutions.

Well asuka did die
she was killed in the battle with the eva units 05
though many people say she didnt die and she and shinji are left to repopulate the earth like adam and eve are not true.

I know like everything to this series religion wise.

Repopulate the planet?
WT...they're 14 and how are they gona repopulate the planet?
Build a jacht and raise kids in the LCL sea? Besides it's impossible for two people to repopulate a planet no matter how Jiggy they get with it. It's a genetic diversety thing.

Hmm now there's a thought though,suka was torn apart, but she is alive in the final scene.
Maybe she was just almost dead and turned to LCL and came back.
I don't know if she died.
But she's defenetly alive inm the last scene.
