Greg Ayres came down to Anime Iowa and as a special treat, brought along the first four dubbed episodes of Trinity Blood. This was my first experience to the series and it looks pretty good so far, looking forward to when the series hits Adult Swim next month.
As far as the quality of the dub, it sounds really good. Troy Baker does an excelent job as Abel, both in normal and transformed forms. Chris Sabat fits really well as the voice of Tres Iques. Anyone who's heard Chris before knows he doesn't have much variety in his roles (with the small exception of Vegeta), but he still sounds great and gives Tres a nice Terminator feel. Because of this, the audience couldn't help but laugh everytime he spoke. Greg plays the role of the Pope. His exact word on his part were, "have I ever played a bigger pansy or what?" The rest of the cast sounds great and I think Funimation did a great job on picking their voice actors.
The DVD is still in pre-production so it will be a while before anyone else can get it, Greg says the box looks really nice. Overall, I'd say that anyone who has already seen this series is in for a real treat.

As one of the BIGGEST Trinity Blood fangirls you will ever hope to meet, I had some VERY high standards for the quality of the English dub. For the most part, they were met. A couple of the translations were a little too tongue in cheek for my taste ("The Thrust Bomb has been prematurely detonated"
), however, I must agree that the voicework is outstanding.
For those interested, ANN has the official release date of vol 1 slated for September 5th.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

And here's some breif programming descriptions on the shows including Trinity Blood on our network in the good ol' north: http://razer.ca/promotions/kamikaze/index.asp
Hopefully CN's Adult Swim will have the same uncut performance as our Razer's version of Trinity Blood.
Haha, you will gonna like the english version of this series, trust me....I've already seen 5 episodes of them in the good ol' north by a small network called Razer.angelx03 wrote:Hopefully the dub will make the series more watchable; I saw the first episode fansubbed awhile back, and it just REEKS with unoriginality.
