The Top Spot

Post by older_gohan » Tue Aug 15, 2006 6:49 pm

I think it was about two weeks ago that one person told hold of CN's saturday night line up on A.S. and played the whole block with episodes of anime of his choosing. It was interesting to see what he had chosen. Well i'm wondering about this and I though about this.

If you had the chance to seize that line up for one day like that saturday and choose any anime episodes to play from 11pm to 5:30 am, what would they be and why would you show those. I'll answer later but what would you show. You would have 6.5 hours of time to play episodes. We'll also say you don't have liscencing restrictions on you.

Here is the guy choose who had control of it.

11:00 - FLCL Ep1
11:30 - FLCL Ep2
12:00 - FLCL Ep3
12:30 - FLCL Ep4
1:00 - FLCL Ep5
1:30 - FLCL Ep6
2:00 - Cowboy Bebop Ep24
2:30 - Cowboy Bebop Ep25
3:00 - Trigun
3:30 - Trigun Final Ep
4:00 - Paranoia Agent
4:30 - Paranoia Agent
5:00 - Super Milk Chan

an ova night

Post by 8bit_samurai » Wed Aug 16, 2006 1:26 am

i think they should have an ova and/or anime movie night, where they show nothin but, uhh, ovas and/or movies... yea. although it probably cost alot money, or somethin, since they hardly show any. what i was thinkin was ghost in the shell (the original anime, and/or mabe the second movie, although i only watched the endin), vampire hunter d bloodlust (and/or the first one), akira, and/or some others, or different ones, knowin some others are dislikers of these, but those are the ones i would choose. i think it would be a break to see a whole story line (or four or five) in one day, then to havin to wait at least a week, (even though that's what some/most of the animes are for)

When you have DVDs plus the internet, why in the world would you need that?

yea, yea... also they have fix line up on their site (mostly william street productions)... and also if not owned could just go rent them ... unless they premiere them (a new ova or anime), which would also be pointless as well, jus got caught up in the moment i guess. most of the anime im exposed to is from a.s., so i would have to choose either a 6.5 hour paranoia agent and/or a samurai champloo marathon with random episodes.

I'd like to see something subbed on TV... I don't even care what it is. Just the fact that they would show it would make it worth it.

Assuming I could get around the censorship, here's my list

11:00 - Ranma½ Ep1
11:30 - Cowboy Bebop (Real Folk Blues pt1)
12:00 - Cowboy Bebop (Real Folk Blues pt2)
12:30 - Robotech Ep 20 (Or whicheccer episode it was that featured the "final battle" against Dulza
1:00 - Trigun Ep 26
1:30 - Slayers Ep 1
2:00 - Tekkaman Blade II Ep1
2:30 - Galaxy Fraulein Yuna Ep1
3:00 - Galaxy Fraulein Yuna Ep2
3:30 - Elemental Geleid Ep1
4:00 - Elemental Geleid Ep2
4:30 - Gigantor Ep1 (90s version)
5:00 - Super Milk Chan
I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to Death
Nor known to Life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, unlimited blade works.

3 eps a pop, assuming commercials makes each ep 1/2 hour...

3 eps of Please Teacher
3 eps of UFO Princess Valkyrie
3 eps of Girls Bravo [avoiding censorship issues hopefully]
3 eps of Ai Yori Aoshi
1 ep of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

1st and 3rd anime are my fav. series with good balance of comedy and serious [maybe] romantic scenarios.

UFO Princess is just catgirl silliness that'll never appear in another anime again hopefully [giving it the exclusive Cat-Girl Ultimate anime]

Ai Yori Aoshi has one of the most realistic themes behind it. No magic, little SD / Tom & Jerry violence, but sitcom style fun, could be replaced with Boys Be for a more serious effect.

That last ep is just to make fun of people... :D
