Here you go:

Hitomi Kanzaki is just an ordinary high school student in present day Tokyo. However, she begins to feel a sense of incongruity in her meaningless daily life and loses the will to live. However, though she writes a will and resigns from the track team following an injury, she did not have the courage to commit suicide. She is easily irritated and even treats her concerned friend coldly. She just wants to disappear. Suddenly, a mysterious black-cloaked man appears and transports her to another world.

She is plunged into a world called Gaea, where a colossus called Escaflowne is seen as a god, and where it was prophesized that she would appear to save their world. She meets Van, whose country was destroyed when he was a child, Allen, who leads a group named Abaharaki, and Folken, who is attempting to destroy the world. They all wish to use Escaflowne to achieve their own goals and battle each other to gain posession of both Escaflowne and the legendary Wind Goddess, Hitomi.
