The theory I've heard on this is that, supposedly, ADV has (or at least had) a policy...license a lot of shitty titles to work up the money for one or two good ones... ...given some of their licenses, there could be something to this theory.

That said, I think part of the problem with a lot of companies nowadays is that they'll license just about any new title out of the pipe. If it's new and even moreso, if it gets buzz on the fansub circuit, they'll buy it...doesn't matter if it turns out to be a steaming pile, it's new, so it could sell...

It's a shame, it wasn't a bad manga. Tha anime was garbage, though. Scared the orginal author so much, she almost didn't let DNAngel get lisenced. I hated the anime Time Bokan. I couldn't finish ONE episode.

Golgo 13: The Professional. There's old school anime, and then there's BAD old school anime. Pointless plot, no real depth, violence for the sake of violence and a "resolution" that doesn't help at all.
