Charcoal Feather Federation ?????
http://www.blockbuster.com/online/catal ... eId=269063
Can anyone explain this???
Where did they get this title from??? ( Charcoal Feather Federation )
The pic and description sounds like Haibane Renmei by the famous Yoshitoshi ABe.
I thought that when this title was released in the US that it's title was kept as "Haibane Renmei"...

AnimeNewsNetwork lists Charcoal Feathers Federation as an alternate title for the series, though I'm unsure of the source for that name. The "All Editions" link on the site you pointed out lists the four volumes of Haibane Renmei as "Haibane-Renmei."
So the name is accurate, though uncommon. I don't know why BlockBuster would list the series like that, though.

*double-checks DVDs* It was. They actually don't even use the "Charcoal Feathers" subhead on the DVDs - on the front it's the logo with the halo-circle-smiley, "Haibane-Renmei" in Japanese and English, and "Une fille qui a des ailes grises" in between. On the spines it's just "Haibane-Renmei." I don't remember where I put the case at the moment, but the Hanenone soundtrack was released under the same kind of titling.Denkyufan wrote:I thought that when this title was released in the US that it's title was kept as "Haibane Renmei"...
I was under the impression after watching the series that "Charcoal Feathers Federation" was a literal translation of "Haibane Renmei" - the governing body of the Haibane, in the series.
So anyway, it's a quirk of cataloguing, I guess, and not some dastardly Geneon plot. ;P Stuff gets listed oddly all over the place - I've never had luck looking up manga on Amazon, myself.

And the "C F F" underneath the halo logo, but if you didn't already know what that was supposed to stand for, you'd never be able to deduce it from just that. So yeah, not sure why they would want to list it as that.SarahtheBoring wrote:*double-checks DVDs* It was. Blockbuster is silly like that. Multiple listings for the same movie/series, misspellings, wrong descriptions, you name it. I'm amazed that I still subscribe to their online service.Scintilla wrote:And the "C F F" underneath the halo logo, but if you didn't already know what that was supposed to stand for, you'd never be able to deduce it from just that. What gets me with the blockbuster set up is that not all volumes will be listed under one series. It seems almost every series has one volume randomly listed by itself and not with the rest of the series.Willen wrote: Blockbuster is silly like that.
