Looking for apopolyptic anime

Post by Orwell » Sun Jan 28, 2007 4:13 pm

I'm looking for a apopolyptic anime that's a bit more realistic, instead of something like EoE. Any suggestions?

Are you looking for the apocalypse occurring during the series, or do you want the series taking place in the aftermath?

For the former, there's X (both the series and the movie, though to be honest the movie's pretty bad) or possibly Fafner.

For the latter, I'd recommend Now & Then, Here & There.

Both, and 'quality' of the anime isn't too much of a concern, this is for a amv project anyhow.

Perhaps Ergo Proxy would work, or at least parts of it.

Appleseed would be a good one. It has scenes correlating to both in the movie and the anime.

You could try trigun, or desert punk.

Devil Lady is really good. Can't go wrong with apocalyptic stuff AND demons.

Wolf's Rain is another good one for post-apocalypse.

And although it's not too dark in tone, there's also the Nausicaa movie.
