Berserk OVA

READ THE MANGA.
They have up to 14 out right now, and I believe there is going to be 22-24 books.

The only problem with reading the manga, is either A) What library would actually bother to add this sort of material to their catalog, I'd bet the price of one book mine wouldn't, or B) That's a hell of a lot of money for a story and pictures, to read, what, once?

They sell around $13 with tax and shipping $18 maybe. Total 18X24=$243 at the most!

Since when has anime been cheap?
Berserk is worth every cent I have. It is my favorite series, and I bought all the dvds individually, and wanted to get a box to put them in. So, I spent 30 dollars for just some cardboard. But that is because I love berserk so much. I also bout the brick box set, so I could have that as well. Trust me Berserk is worth every penny it sells at if not more, and I am willing to pay!

And once again, since when was anime ever cheap? Haven't you seen that wallet? "ANIME! Crack is cheaper!"

Er, a bit of numerical dyslexia there? Don't you mean 432? And anime is cheap when you buy it long after it came out. I can't think of a single series I've bought that hasn't been out at least one year, and then it was probably on sale. I bought berserk the tv series, but that has value beyond the one use. AMVs. If I didn't delude myself into thinking I might edit something, I'd probably own very few animes.

There is truth to your words. I sometimes but the brick box set collection and other times I get tired of waiting and just buy the complete normal box set. I usually don't buy single dvds any more. Sorry about the numbers also, and for me as for owning so many anime series I buy them for the story lines. I don't make AMVs have no time. School, woman, beer. But seriously, it is ture you can find anime cheap it really just depends on how much you value the series and how long you are willing to wait. You have much more patience then this Gemini.

A forewarning to anyone who has only seen the anime and is interested in reading the manga:

It is about twice as graphic and explicit in every aspect of the series.

The TV version is very toned down compared to the manga, even to the point where certain parts of the plot were ignored or diluted (the explicit motivation behind the king of Midland's harshness towards Griffith's actions and the entire presence of the Knights of the Black Dog). Lots of blood, guts, and rape. Plus, many foreshadowing elements were pretty much removed so that the TV version could effectively portray a single arc more conclusively (Skull Knight, Puck, Kushan nation, Rickert's involvement, etc.) as said in some previous posts.

It isn't just violent for the sake of being violent, however--it's all part of the dark and dreary world Berserk takes place in. Just felt that this should be pointed out since no one else seems to have commented on the difference. :p

you may remember the part in the anime where guts has a dream about running to gambino while a demon chases him, and then pins him down.
in the manga, another soldier pays gambino for guts' asshole for a night.
the soldier then rapes guts.
guts later has that dream in the manga, but the demon is actually that soldier.
