(Current) Favourite anime: Fullmetal Alchemist
Yes, I totally agree! Moreover, it has humour as well (I love it when people call Ed a pipsqueak).Tsuxiau wrote:
Reason: It's a effing great anime! I feel sorry for those who don't think so. It has good characters, down to earth (in some respect), a lot of action and conflict, fantastic storyline, and realistic behaviors, ideas, and values.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
reason: a friend of the internet told me that NGE is really worth watching and it could change my vision of the world. of course i didn't believe him first, but i took myself a heart and bought the whole platinum series (and i tell you, it wasn't cheap^^) and i loved it from the beginning on. all the characters and their inner conflicts... i really was fascinated by them. by wathing the series, i had only one thought: "will shinji and the others ever be satisfied with their lifes and find a solution for their problems?". well and then i saw the last two episodes and i was a little bit confused, but after watching them two or three times more, i understood... anno has really created a masterpiece with NGE.^^
well i think i've talked enough for now. NGE rulez.! xD
btw: i'm german, so excuse my poor english pls.

I'd say Urusei Yatsura is my favorite overall. I absolutely love Lum - take that however you so choose. She's hot, has loads of cool gadgets, yet is sweet and almost innocent. Ataru's a moron, if I had a girl like that chasing after me, I'd be all over her like white on rice. Of course, I enjoy the other characters as well. Mendou is so over the top sometimes I can't help but smile. Blah blah. I love the characters and storylines. I find it to be a very funny and somewhat thought provoking series. I like Inuyasha as well, but haven't seen enough of it to judge it. I suspect I'm a Takahashi fan overall.
I really enjoyed Ruroni Kenshin as well. I enjoy portrayals of feudal japan, and I really like honorable characters like Kenshin.
Samurai Champloo looks awesome, but I've only watched two eps so far. But I was nearly sucked in, and I'm sure it'll be at the top of my list for a long time.

Fullmetal Alchemist, easily.
Because... it has everything. It has the action, an amazing storyline, the matter of science trumping religion when it comes to understanding the world, the concept of deconstructing and reconstructing it into any shape at will... it's all so cool. Especially the characters, they're developed extremely well (Edward is the best character of any show that I've ever seen... practical, yet comical, and he's just got a cool attitude... not the righteous fighter for justice, just a laidback alchemist who could kick your ass any day of the week).
I've been into Bleach lately... but it just doesn't do it for me. It progresses WAY too slow (think of what's happened in 120 episode of Bleach, and then compare it to everything that's happened in a mere 51 episodes of FMA...), and the show just tries to develop way too many characters, and fails. I mainly watch it for the cool action and fights really . The look on the enemie'ss face when the protaganist suddenly exponentially increases his (or her) already immense power... it never gets old.
Eureka 7 is pretty good though. A little quirky, but it's still an amazing and deep show.
