It's a good thing raised about Anime making us better people, just remember that that’s true of all Mythology. Most of the stuff we see, we could probably take or leave, but the really good stories will display either a really good or bad character that we can use as a template for our lives. Anime is just our chosen poison that we all seem to enjoy. Some other stories that I like and have made me a better person would be
"1984, How to Make Friends and Influence People, the Art of Happiness, Leaves of Grass", this list goes on for a while, in the end we can say that everything that we do will influence us to be who we are, art "such as anime" will with luck will be an enriching experience, and will make us better people.

CSI? Good Television...SSJVegita0609 wrote:I watch anything that I like. Just because I come to places like this all the time doesn't mean I watch ONLY anime, I watch just about anything I deem good on TV (Law and Order, CSI, South Park, etc), plus I'm a big movie buff. I just happen to like lots of anime.
FICTION CAN BE FUN!
I have never watched the show, but there is a damn good reason for that... I have a lot of friends who are cops, and all I hear is about how CSI is full of shit and how the fudged up this or fudged up that. After listening to them rip apart the show for about 5 hours you would want to stay as far away from it as possible.
Sorry but to see CSI ranked up there among South Park (which has been slipping lately) is kind of messed up.

ah, good question
well, I'd say that first off I enjoy the art of comic book so it kinda follows. But mostly there are things that a small group of people like, but not enough to do a live action of, so anime allows artist to envision things, that we couldn't get rpoduced otherwise. DBZ (not my personal fav, but a pretty good show) would never make a good movie unless someone really put the money into it. But anime allows you to blow up an entire city or planet with no problem. Best of all no actor takes your favorite character and hams it up, they don't even get paid. So if I want a badass show and not a B movie, I can ether watch anime or wait for the hollywood you get off its ass, so anime fills the void.
Plus sometimes anime is an easier medium to express something. I don't know that so shows would translate well to film.
(maybe a RL transformers movie though..... )

Anime takes adult theme and sticks them into an enjoyable medium...
Animation and art to me is better than watching actors or real people "try" to do a part of something...
[and yes, we all know that anime characters are hotter than people... ^_^]
