Escaflowne the movie...what's up with the animation style???

If I'm not wrong, the animation studio responsible for Escaflowne the TV series and the movie is BONES, they of Cowboy Bebop, Rahxephon, Wolf's Rain and Scrapped Princess fame. Can anyone confirm this?

If they are, then they certainly have a fascination with Maaya Sakamoto.

take note, i really do like escaflowne film, the animation is great, its just when escaflowne changes into its dragon form, the animation for it is a bit crappy...........

mMm...the thing that i hate the most about the animation is the people's noses...its like sO freakin sharp

I kinda' liked it even the new Merna <sp?> and Hitomi with the lucious lips, big noses etc. wouldn't have fit in with the rest of the animation.

personaly i liked teh animation in the series more then the movie ... sure it was "higher quality" ... but i still like the art in the series more. I don't like the characters as much either ... i know it's an alternate reality ... but i still like the series characters much more. Plus when i compare the characters in the movie to the characters in the series, the movies characters seem so shallow, but then agian they don't have as much time to develop ... but still i don't like the movie that much. All the dark colours don't do much for me either ... considering i was watching it on my computer and it looked like i was staring at a black box on my screen half the time.

Oh, and Bones did do RahXephon, beyond that i do not know.
