I go as far back as voltron if that's actual anime, not sure. First buy was Akira when it his USA, use to watch sci fi channels saturday afternoon/night movies. That one anime that was like Aliens but with a cat ghost. Then when sailor moon and DB (not Z) use to come on Saturday morning and weekday mornings (for sailor moon - something to watch when I was getting up for high school) Then of course ronin warriors on whatever UPN was before UPN.
I watch anime cause I like cartoons, to me these are just more adult. I wouldn't expect a 10 year old to understand Ghost in the Shell or Perfect Blue. But I don't like the childish animes with too much of the silly unfunny humor where they look stupid all the time. I like the go betweens though, like Kenshin, Trigun and Saber Marionette (sp?). Thats when it's actually funny, not when you do it every 10 seconds (I tend to turn off or fall asleep)

I rented My Neighbor Totoro when I was like 6 because I thought the picture of Totoro on the cover looked intersting. After that I watched some sailer moon and Thunder Cats, then I didn't really watch any anime until Toonami showed Tenchi Muyo which got me into it alot more.

I was 5 years old when I started watching "Kimba The White Lion"
Then in High School I watched "Voltron", and "Battle of the Planets"
I saw them and they were better than the other crap out there so I consider those the shows that prepped a mindset to watch more anime. So then I saw Robotech and I was hooked. It was like a strange drug. Couldnt get enough.
Same year I went to my first SciFi convention and they had a anime room showing imported titles. First saw Gundam at that con and that was it, I was addicted.

:nods: looks like you already answered for me.SSJVegita0609 wrote:Nothing, I like stories that I think are good, animes tended to have these types of stories. I consider anime equivalent to any other type of media, but then again, I don't like to classify much.
