First Anime for me was "Speed Racer"
but that was before I understood the concept of "Japanese Animation"
I started to get the idea when I was watching "Battle of the Planets" (the US release of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman)
So... I count both of those as the first anime I ever watched.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

the fartherst back i can remember sould be either Dragon balls or samuri pizza cats, when it was aired in canada when i was a kid.
The first anime i watched to get me back into anime, unwittingly was Blood: the last vampire. I aw it and really didn't know it was anime, jsut thought it was a cool cartoon because it didn't look like pokemon or Dragon ball Z.
The first anime i knowingly, activly sought out, was FLCL ... bad choice for a first anime, but i still liked it.

For me it all started with Satuday Anime on the scifi channel, even though they only ever seemed to Akira, Demon city i forget what the rest of the name is, and ROBOT CARNIVAL. i love robot carnival, im still looking for a copy. But what really started me was Ronin Warriors. It came on at like 5:30 or 6 in the morning, and if i missed it then i came on again at 9:30 on Star 64( that channel crashed and burned) but that is basicly what started me. 8)

I remember Technoman[Tekkaman] on tv but i don't remember Record of Lodoss War ever being on tv. I guess it was regional.OmniStrata wrote:On TV, I didn't know it was anime, but Teknoman [Tekkaman] was my first viewing, alongside Record of Lodoss War OAV. [both were on TV]
My first "VHS" anime was borrowed from a friend called "Oh My Goddess".
[ever since then, I realized I loved romance comedy anime and that all others were just inferior to me ]

Mines was something like Transformers (never really fully consider it anime though. Done by american writer and artist)
Or it was a show that i can not rember the name of but I remeber the guy turn into a robot thing with a crystal and he could only do it for like 30 min at a time.
Speed Racer in there some where
